Cool paper by @ying_yin and Seok-Yong Lee, showing that inhibitors bind selectively to the desensitized state of the cold and menthol sensor TRPM8 #ionchannel, indicating overlapping mechanisms for desensitization and inhibition https://t.co/fd7VyNvdtc
Out today from the Bartesaghi lab! nextPYP is a turn-key framework for single-particle cryo-ET that streamlines complex data analysis pipelines, from pre-processing of tilt series to high-resolution refinement, for efficient analysis of large datasets. https://t.co/ot2wR3wbFO
Today another preprint from Lee lab @dukebiochem ⭐️Molecular basis of polyspecific drug binding and transport by OCT1 and OCT2⭐️ Amazing work by Yang Suo
@Jucember, Nick Wright @nick_rite, mentor Seok-Yong, and the Im lab at LehighU. Congrats to all!!! https://t.co/QLzjcjQC2W
We show that 3DFlex learns multiple dimensions of flexibility in a tri-snRNP spliceosome complex, while maintaining detail in secondary structure elements that move 20Å+. On TRPV1 ion channel data, 3DFlex learns two kinds of coordinated bending of the soluble domains:

So I collected 1242 tilt series (+/- 36 degrees /w 3 deg increments) over the weekend using BISECT on Krios with K3.
Now let's get some structure!
Can't wait to share those scripts.

Our new work is finally out!🍻 Extended from previous results, graphene grids are applied to establish a convenient workflow for cryo-EM analysis of liposome-embedded MPs. So many thanks to Nieng and Xia! More to be explored when everything back to normal

Coronavirus life cycle, with spikes being made in ER at top, viral replicases and double membrane vesicles at center, and budding viruses at the bottom. I'll be making a big file and a full description available @buildmodels in the near future.
Check out our paper detailing the #cryoem structure of the Bestrophin 2 anion channel. We solved preferred orientation by adding amphipol to the final protein prep, resulting in 2.2A resolution. @Columbia@SEMC_NYSBC

Wow - barely 2 weeks and they synthesized the S protein gene, cloned expressed purified it, did #cryoEM using Warp and @cryosparc, receptor binding by Biacore AND cryoEM, wrote paper, pub online... did they ever sleep? Incredible! Congrats! (Note to self: need gene synthesizer)
The first 2019-nCoV #coronavirus structure of the main protease has been released today (6LU7). This is a result of a huge effort from Prof. Rao's group @ShanghaiTechUni. For more information on the structure and related data available in the PDB visit https://t.co/BMcExAzAr5
The crystal structure of 2019-nCoV main protease is just another example of how fast a structure can be solved by crystallography (if all goes well). Also, Rao & Yang didn't recreate the wheel: they published the 1st crystal structure of SARS-CoV main protease in 2003 on PNAS.
I proudly present to you the segmented and coloured map of the awesome NDH-1MS complex. Read the paper here: https://t.co/56Iponsdlt Awesome cooperation with @NowaLab@TheKailaLab
