@jthill @mr_remus @lsandham1 @RichardGaudio I like how one of the students admits it was intimidating initially not to be told what to do but after gaining experience, it was such a positive thing. I think being aware that the initial introduction to design thinking may be intimidating will help teachers to follow through.

@Cchapin85 @tuscany_cbe This is awesome! The freedom to move back and forth between a large open space and a smaller classroom allows for flexibility in the teaching process. I think we need more flexibility to fully incorporate design based learning.

@jthill @ElsenMichele @BarberLegendre That critical friend needs to be able to invest in the process too. They have to really empathise with the user/designer.

@ElsenMichele @BarberLegendre I tried verbalising my problem to a friend today to see if that would bring clarity but I don't think he saw it as a problem! It's all about empathy and understanding the needs of the user #dtk12

@Jilby09 I don't think so. Teachers in our area are placing more emphasis on learning than on exams. If the students have learned the content well through authentic learning, the exam should be easy in comparison.

@ElsenMichele I had design thinking in my mind as we were ideating possible solutions to our problem! I'm not sure that we can build a prototype to test this though... we're just going to have to pick a solution! #dtk12

@Polly967 Engaging in the design process in our course has felt like "play" to me. For many students, being able to take control and to engage with their peers makes learning fun.

@jthill @CathySandul @MBates2019 Good way of wording it - a rut or a groove. I am making the most of my field experience to observe other teachers (not just my partner teacher) as they all say it is something they would love to be able to do more of. #dtk12

@TSkoby @jnordh9 My field advisor commented on how impressed he was that I stopped and listened to a student's comments, and asked for clarification when I didn't answer. It shocked me because he saw it as something unexpected. We need to be good listeners to be good teachers. #dtk12
