Renegade JAG (and friends) collaborative (we/they). Here to challenge hype + spin in mil justice & LOAC/IHL fields. Huge MWR fans, as you'll def see. Now CJTF.
@gillibrandny@USSenate@Invisible_War@SenGillibrand The case to #PassMJIIPA is unsustainable w/o hype & spin created to support it.
The false narratives have inflicted significant damage to reputation of US military. If your name is listed as cosponsor for #MJIIPA, you are complicit in that damage.
Find truth. Abandon #MJIIPA.
@JonathanHafetz (from a proprio motu application which was developed from "[t]ens of thousands of pages of...documentary material...released to the public through [FOIA] litigation in US courts" & a subsequent sovereign decision not to initiate criminal proceedings after extensive deliberation).
We are so excited to announce that today is Howard Altman's first day with TWZ! Howard brings such an incredible skill set to our team, we can't wait to see where it all goes. His first post will be up today, keep an eye out! And make sure to follow him @haltman !
Quite stoked to be part of the tremendous team at @thewarzonewire Amazing talent, great leadership. Looking forward to continuing the mission. Today is my first day. Hit me up with tips, suggestions, announcements.
@pagossman @GregJaffe@ExumAM@Carter_PE@KateClark66@andreaprasow @johnsifton US portion of #ICC Afg investigation centered on alleged detainee abuse from 2003-04 & considered thousands of files from US govt's own inquires. Suggesting OTP inv = evidence of US mil failure to inv/pros in general is a stretch even by @hrw standards.

@RepSaraJacobs@PattyMurray "Simply put, US weps should not be being used to commit war crimes...but far too often...Congressional authority & our moral responsibility to uphold human rights around world, has been ignored".
Next demonstrate actual "war crimes" are being committed.
@saddamscribe@ProtectRDfnders Sure is hard to argue w/activists when they avoid actual data @ all costs. Like DAC-IPAD report, Oct. 2020:
"There is not a systemic problem w/initial disposition authority's decision either to prefer an adult penetrative SA offense or take no action".

@MilitaryTimes Periodic reminder to all mil members not to accept media analysis as substitute for actual legal advice. Consult your servicing judge advocate or at least refer to official doctrine such as DoD LOW Manual.
Setup in first 6 paras of this article is only part that's not contested.
Honored to have my article published by The Government Contractor. “These Boots Are Made for Buying: Buyer Incentives and The Agency Problem in the Commercial Platforms Initiative.” #govcon#procurement#governmentcontractor#gsa#cpi
There are a lot of folks who (rightly) criticize the US military for civilian casualties. We mess up sometimes.
Now, you’re seeing what happens when a modern army doesn’t care about — or purposely creates — civilian casualties.
We are not the same.
Nonsense indeed! Besides “affording a civilian presumption” makes it sound like a courtesy or a choice the belligerent gets to me. It’s not, it’s literally the black and white letter of treaty law. (AP I Art. 51)
