Congrats to @nicoleleejw (and other @ConfinementLab co-authors) on her main story coming out this month in @CellReports! Check out this thread if you’re interested in what Nicole discovered on the role #MechanicalMemory plays in facilitating cell migration in #confinement
So proud of our lab alumnus, @KaustavBera11 (PhD ’22), on joining @PurdueChemE as an Assistant Professor! Excited to see him launch his lab and continue advancing the frontiers of mechanobiology, biomaterials and tissue engineering. Wishing him every success in this new chapter!
Congratulations to our PhD student @NitishSriv24401 on winning first place for poster presentation at the @INBT_JHU 19th Nano-Bio Symposium! He presented work on how our microfluidic devices can be used to predict GBM patient survival and advance precision medicine approaches.
Finally, we identified the “p85 Inhibitory And Metastasis Suppressor” (PIMS) Motif within a subfamily of PH-Domains with anti-metastatic Potential. [4/4]
Pleased to share our collaborative work with the Kontrogianni group, now out in Advanced Science @AdvPortfolio. Led by Matthew & @Anindya_SenJHU , we show how delivery of PH domains suppress PI3K/Akt signaling and breast cancer metastasis. Read more:

Proud of our brilliant PhD student @nath_sanjiban2 for receiving the @HopkinsEngineer Teaching Assistant Excellence Award. Sanjiban served as TA for the graduate-level Transport Phenomena course. He is an excellent teacher and amazing researcher. Stay tuned for what’s next!
4/4 Proud of Dr. @alice_amitrano for her work on how mechanochemical cues control cell behavior. Alice has first-author papers in Science Advances, Cell Reports, and COCB, with another in review, plus work in journals such as Nano Letters, and NatMaterials. Exciting work ahead!
1/4 Excited to share that 3 of my doctoral students have successfully defended their theses! Congratulations to @Anindya_SenJHU, @YQinling and @alice_amitrano on this major milestone. They are outstanding researchers and people. Looking forward to seeing all they accomplish next.
3/4 Proud of Dr. @YQinling for her work on the function of membrane transporters in cell migration. Qinling, our cell biology expert, has first-author papers in Science Advances and Cell Reports, and work in journals such as NatComm and PNAS. Looking forward to her future success
Huge congratulations to our brilliant PhD student @BhawanaAg12 for winning the WSE @HopkinsEngineer Excellence in Research Trainee Award and being selected as 1 of only 7 presenters (out of 186 abstracts) at the @JohnsHopkins DOM/WSE Research Retreat. Incredible achievement! 🔬👏
Pleased to share our work on how hypoxia restores acidosis-induced inhibition of cancer cell dissemination- now out in Cell Reports! Led by Se Jong Lee, @alice_amitrano , @YQinling & @debanikch. Many thanks to our lab members and our collaborators!
