🔹 Czech scientists are the first in the world to have imaged an entire chromosome in its native state.

🔹 Thanks to the new revolutionary Advanced Environmental Scanning Electron Microscopy (A–ESEM) imaging method, researchers from our Institute of Scientific Instruments in collaboration with @IBOTCZ achieved what experts from leading laboratories all over the world have been striving for.

🔹 Revealing the structure of the chromosome surface, consisting of protrusions and chromatin fibers spatially organized in loops, has potential implications for fields like medicine and agriculture.

To je jen malý výčet oblastí, kterým se věnují nadaní mladí výzkumníci a výzkumnice z pracovišť Akademie věd ČR, kteří ve čtvrtek 13. června 2024 převzali prestižní Prémii Otto Wichterleho.

✨ Uděluje se od roku 2002 a je spojena s finanční odměnou 330 tisíc korun rozloženou do tří let. Dosud ji obdrželo 520 laureátů a laureátek.
