Congratulations to @shormin_sultana for tremendous effort in finding these suppressors and to @MudabirAbdullah for finishing where Sarmin left off. Congratulations to our collaborators from Yale, Mark Hochstrasser and Jianhui Li, for characterizing the variants.
This work from @Kachroo_Lab focused on functionally non-replaceable human genes. By developing an automated, high throughput pipeline, we obtained human gene variants of human Beta2 subunit of the proteasome core that can cover for the corresponding a yeast gene function.
Spend an hour reading this weekend and I think you’ll know more about robotics than 99% of people, including some people who invest in robotics.

Online now @ Cell is the yeast multicellular engineering paper from @DrFankangMeng - the fruits of his productive PhD. He developed modular synthetic biology tools to bring multicellular behaviours to yeast - adhesion, juxtacrine signalling and more. https://t.co/6ZxfUAkNL5
Our latest paper is out! In collaboration with @DrAnneCarpenter, we conducted a systematic high-content screen to understand the role of protein mislocalization in diverse human disorders. 1/ https://t.co/pQzVx0hOrC

Check out my lab's first work on membrane proteins!
Yes, we knew nothing about detergent😜, so we directly imaged proteins within native membrane!
Embarking on a new life's chapter as I join @MoCel_Geneva and @sciences_UNIGE. Feeling both excited and sad leaving my Weizmann family. Here's to new scientific adventures about proteins, assemblies, proteomes, and yeast!
We are thrilled to present a new #enzyme to the world, the first shown to break the man-made carbon-silicon bonds in #siloxanes, which are persistent in the environment.

There is bias in faculty hiring networks! bottom line.
Please RT. Interested in understanding the role of chromosome instability and micronuclei in cancer development? We have a postdoc position @IEOufficiale generously funded by @WorldwideCancer to work on this exciting topic. Starting date April 1, 2024.
Do have an interest in #GPCR signaling? Did you always want a good assay that worked in your favorite cell type? Even with endogenous GPCRs? This might be for you. We got some surprises about endogenous GPCR behavior. Remi + Marcin led, with help from many https://t.co/H50CuWJTy8
"Check out my journal club blurb in @NatureRevGenet on #humanizedyeast, deep mutational scanning, featuring the recent article from @FPRoth's group predicting the impact of missense variants in human HMBS on Porphyria. https://t.co/052RSzZ3mu"
I’ve handled the review of > 1000 papers at @nature. Over time, you notice aspects of presentation on which reviewers tend to comment. In the interests of minimizing hassles during review, I offer the following suggestions (a bit targeted to climate papers).
Just found out my friend got murdered in his house together with his wife and all his kids. He was a very good man who helped anybody as a principle, even if you weren't close with whatever you might need. A real Kibbutznik. I am broken. Everybody around me getting similar news.
