சர்வதேச அரங்கில் மனித உரிமைகளுக்காகவும், போர்க்குற்றங்கள் மற்றும் இனப்படுகொலைகளுக்கு எதிராக நீதி கேட்டுத் தொடர்ந்து போராடிவரும் அமைதிக்கான நோபல் பரிசு பெற்ற நவநீதம் பிள்ளை (நவி பிள்ளை) குறித்து, சமூக வலைத்தளமான எக்ஸ் (X) தளத்தில் தற்போது ஒரு முக்கிய உலகளாவிய விவாதம் எழுந்துள்ளது. இலங்கை உள்ளிட்ட உலகெங்கும் நிகழ்த்தப்பட்ட மனித உரிமை மீறல்களை இனப்படுகொலைகளை ஆவணப்படுத்தி, கொடுங்கோலர்களை சர்வதேச சட்டத்தின் முன் நிறுத்திய இந்த நீதிப் பெண்மணியின் சாதனைகளை உலகம் உச்சிமுகர்ந்து கொண்டாடிவரும் வேளையில், அவரது பூர்வீக மண்ணான தமிழகத்தை உள்ளடக்கிய இந்திய ஏகாதிபத்தியம் மௌனம் காப்பது ஏன் என்ற வினாவினை காங்கிரஸ் கட்சியின் நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர் சசி தரூர் அவர்கள் எழுப்பியுள்ளார்.

நவநீதம் பிள்ளையின் அளப்பரிய சேவைகளைப் போற்றும் வகையில், சசி தரூர் அவர்கள் அவரைப் பற்றிய ஒரு சிறப்பு ஆவணப்படத்தை வெளியிட்டுள்ளார். அந்தப் பதிவில், உலகமே போற்றும் ஒரு தமிழ்ப் பெண்மணியின் சாதனையை இந்திய அரசு ஏன் இன்னும் அதிகாரப்பூர்வமாகப் பாராட்டவில்லை என்ற தனது கடுமையான ஆதங்கத்தை வெளிப்படுத்தியுள்ளார்.
"இதுவே நவி பிள்ளை ஒரு குஜராத்தியாகவோ அல்லது ராஜஸ்தானியாகவோ இருந்திருந்தால், ஒட்டுமொத்த இந்தியாவும் கொண்டாடியிருக்குமே; வட இந்திய மையவாத அணுகுமுறையால்தான் தமிழகத்தைச் சேர்ந்த இத்தகைய மாபெரும் ஆளுமைகளின் சாதனைகள் திட்டமிட்டு இருட்டடிக்கப்படுகின்றனவா?" என்ற தொனியில் அவர் எழுப்பிய கேள்விகள் தற்போது எக்ஸ் தளத்தில் தேசிய மற்றும் சர்வதேச அளவில் பெரும் விவாதப் பொருளாக மாறியுள்ளன.
நவி பிள்ளையின் உலகளாவிய மனித உரிமைப் பயணம்
தென்னாப்பிரிக்காவில் இன வெறிக்கு எதிரான (Apartheid) காலத்தில் நிறவெறி அரசுக்கு எதிராகத் தைரியமாக வாதாடிய வழக்கறிஞர்களில் நவி பிள்ளையும் ஒருவர். பின்னர், சர்வதேச குற்றவியல் நீதிமன்றத்தின் (ICC) நீதிபதியாகவும், ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் அவையின் மனித உரிமைகள் உயர் ஆணையராகவும் (UN High Commissioner for Human Rights) அவர் ஆற்றிய பணிகள் வரலாற்றுச் சிறப்புமிக்கவை.
குறிப்பாக, இலங்கைத் தமிழர் படுகொலைகள் மற்றும் அங்கு நடைபெற்ற மனித உரிமை மீறல்கள் குறித்து ஐ.நா. அளவில் வலுவான குரல் எழுப்பியவர் அவர். பல நாடுகளின் அரசாங்கங்களின் அழுத்தங்களை மீறி, பாதிக்கப்பட்ட மக்களுக்கான நீதியை உலக அரங்கின் மையத்திற்குக் கொண்டு சென்றதில் இவரது பங்கு அளப்பரியது.

"வேற்றுமையில் ஒற்றுமை" என்ற தத்துவத்தின் அடிப்படையில் இயங்கும் இந்திய யூனியனில், தமிழகம் போன்ற மாநிலங்களைச் சேர்ந்த ஆளுமைகளின் சர்வதேச சாதனைகள் கூட வடவர் மைய இந்திய ஏகாதி பத்தியத்தால் அங்கீகரிக்கப் படப்படுவதில்லை என்ற குற்றச்சாட்டு நீண்டகாலமாகவே நிலவி வருகிறது.
• அதிகார மையங்களின் பார்வை: நாட்டின் ஒரு குறிப்பிட்ட பகுதியைச் சேர்ந்தவர்கள் அல்லது தனித்துவ மொழிக் கலாச்சாரத்திலிருந்து வரும் ஆளுமைகளின் சாதனைகள் வடவர் மய இந்திய ஊடகங்களாலும், ஒன்றிய அரசுகளாலும் மதிக்கப்படுவதில்லை , திட்டமிட்டே ஓரங்கட்டப்படுவதாகக் கூறப்படும் விமர்சனத்திற்கு இந்த விவாதம் வலு சேர்த்துள்ளது.
