A fantastic article from the BMJ (Friday 19th July 2024).

‘The notion that animal research saves human lives has become part of our collective belief system. But this belief is not based on scientific evidence’.

Ridglan Farms is finally closing down and the dogs are being sent to rescue groups to find forever homes! Baywatch star Alexandra Paul joined us on TMZ Live to talk about this major event.
I told ya we are at a turning point! Not just one but two cabinet secretaries joining the fight against Ridglan Farms-and all animal experiments.
The writing is on the wall.
We won! Ridglan is closing and all the dogs are coming out!
And I want to share two important things about how we won. (Hint: it wasn’t me. It was someone else!)
Today @USDA@SecRollins and I secured a major win for animal welfare.
Ridglan Farms will transfer its remaining 475 beagles out of a research breeding facility and into the care of a no-kill rescue, where they can begin the path to adoption.
Thank you, @LaraLeaTrump, for championing this issue.
We are also launching a new @NIH office, ORIVA, to speed the transition away from animal testing and toward modern, human-based science.
We will keep fighting for humane treatment of animals, better science, and accountability.
🚨 JUST IN: Trump EPA Chief Lee Zeldin just moved to AXE cruel DOG and ANIMAL testing *permanently*
Why would a Democrat oppose this?!
"We announced 13 new approach methods having that approval from our agency, which allows us to continue that process of phasing out animal testing permanently. We're excited to do it!"
🐶⚠️ AFTER RIDGLAN, ACTIVISTS ARE TURNING THEIR ATTENTION TO A MUCH LARGER FACILITY.
Animal rights activist Wayne Hsiung has released a public plan focused on Marshall BioResources (MBR) in North Rose, New York, a major breeder of animals used in laboratory research.
Hsiung, who is currently facing criminal charges related to actions taken during the Ridglan Farms rescue campaign, argues that the movement to reform animal testing should not stop with one facility.
According to animal welfare advocates, MBR is one of the largest suppliers of research animals in the United States, providing dogs and other animals for laboratory use.
Supporters of reform point to reports, investigations, and footage they say raise serious ethical concerns about the use of animals in scientific testing. They argue that advances in technology are creating alternatives that could reduce reliance on animal experimentation while still supporting scientific progress.
Hsiung's campaign calls for:
🐾 Increased public awareness
🐾 Legislative reform
🐾 Greater transparency in animal research
🐾 Expanded use of non-animal testing methods
🐾 Rescue and rehoming opportunities for animals currently in laboratory systems
The announcement comes as public debate over animal testing continues to grow, fueled by recent attention surrounding the rescue of beagles from Ridglan Farms and broader discussions about the future of biomedical research.
Supporters of animal research maintain that certain forms of testing continue to play a role in medical and scientific development, while critics argue that newer technologies can increasingly replace the need for animal models.
Whatever one's position, the conversation is expanding beyond a single facility and into a larger national discussion about science, ethics, transparency, and animal welfare.
For advocates, the question is no longer just what happened at Ridglan.
It's what comes next. 🐾❤️

From @wmtv15news in Madison, Wisconsin:
"This is something that is post-partisan. This is not a Democrat or Republican issue. We are working together to end all federal funding for the experimentation on cats and dogs."
Another 135 beagles have been rescued from a breeding and testing facility in Blue Mounds, Wisconsin, months after more than 1,500 dogs were removed from the same laboratory in April.
I’m now facing 31 years in prison — even more than before!
Prosecutors just added 3 more felony charges against me before my arraignment today.
All because I volunteered to save beagles from criminal abuse at Ridglan Farms.
It’s outrageous that people may be going to prison for rescuing dogs that are being tortured inside taxpayer funded labs.
President Trump should pardon the individuals who were arrested for trying to save the beagles from Ridglan Farms, and then he should sign an executive memorandum BANNING all taxpayer funded animal testing across all federal agencies.
I hope we get tons of shares on this post and I hope the @WhiteHouse will stand up for innocent animals that are being abused.
I’m sure I don’t agree with the people who were arrested on all of their political views, but we agree that animals who are being abused should be rescued by any means necessary.
If anyone should be arrested and charged with a felony, it’s the mad scientists who are abusing these dogs.
I hope they are all pardoned.

One week from now, people from across the country will gather outside Marshall BioResources in North Rose, New York to stand up for the approximately 26,000 beagles still trapped inside.
The momentum from Ridglan Farms proved the world is watching. People are paying attention. Conversations are growing louder. And now it’s time to keep that momentum moving forward.
🐾 These dogs are born into cages.
🐾 They never chose this life.
🐾 They need people willing to stand up and be their voice.
🗣️ Join us peacefully in North Rose and help shine a national spotlight on a system that countless advocates believe no longer belongs in the modern world.

This vigil is hosted by Beagle Lovers And Rescuers (BLR), a nonprofit founded by people who opened their homes to former research beagles and refused to stay silent after learning the truth. BLR has worked alongside whistleblowers and advocates to help expose what happens behind closed doors inside these facilities while pushing for modern non-animal testing alternatives.
🐶 The beagles inside Marshall BioResources cannot speak for themselves.
But WE can.
This is MONUMENTAL✨👏
Red Beast Enterprises, a horrific lab that warehoused cats, debarked dogs, & neglected animals, closed down! Now, nearly 70 cats & dogs are at @kindnessranch, an organization that rehabilitates animals used in experiments 🫶
🚨 ALERT: Approximately 26,000 beagles are still imprisoned inside Marshall BioResources.

Pop star Debbie Gibson and Terry “Geezer” Butler, co-founder of the heavy metal band Black Sabbath, stopped by the Dane County Humane Society to show support for the effort to find new homes for #RidglanFarms beagles.
You asked me to look into Marshall Farms in Wayne County, NY so I went there myself. The moment we started recording, security showed up to keep a watchful eye on us. Ridgland Farms was just the beginning. We won't stop until all dogs and cats are protected from invasive animal testing.
Ridglan was only one chapter.
Now people are starting to look at Marshall BioResources… a massive breeding and testing operation with more than 22,000 beagles behind its walls.
Twenty two thousand dogs born into a system most people never even see.
The conversation is getting louder. And people are finally starting to ask why this industry still exists at all.
In an “open rescue,” activists struck Ridglan Farms in daylight, courting arrest and setting up a tear-gas-fueled clash before a deal was reached to rehome 1,500 dogs. 🔗 https://t.co/dXuORiwyEZ
