I was joined by key stakeholders as I performed the flag-off of the reconstruction of the 80-kilometre Zaria–Soba–Pambegua Road and the construction of Kinkiba Road, two significant federal interventions that will strengthen connectivity, expand access to markets and stimulate economic activity across Kaduna State.
I sincerely thank His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his sustained commitment to infrastructure development in Kaduna State and across Nigeria. I also commend the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, GCON, for facilitating these projects and advancing the interests of our people.
I welcome the Speaker’s acknowledgement of our administration’s consistent support for him and other members of the National Assembly. His commendation affirms our shared conviction that cooperation across institutions is essential to translating public expectations into tangible development.
These projects will complement our administration’s extensive investments in roads, improving mobility for communities and opening wider opportunities for farmers, traders and businesses. Their enduring value will be measured in easier journeys, stronger livelihoods and greater access to essential services.
We will continue with purpose and resolve to deepen collaboration with the Federal Government and our representatives to secure investments that address our people’s needs and ensure that development reaches communities throughout Kaduna State.

Today, I was in Zaria Local Government Area to formally commence the payment of approximately ₦2 billion in property compensation to 865 households affected by the construction of township roads across Zaria, Sabon Gari, Giwa and Shika.
This intervention is anchored in a fundamental principle of our governance philosophy: development must never come at the expense of human dignity, and no citizen should be made to bear an undue burden in the collective pursuit of progress. We believe that the benefits of public infrastructure must be matched by fairness, accountability and respect for the legitimate rights of those whose properties are affected. Accordingly, we undertook a transparent assessment of the affected properties to ensure that fair and adequate compensation is paid before construction resumes.
Since May 2023, our administration has compensated approximately 4,865 households across Kaduna State’s three senatorial zones, at a cumulative cost of about ₦7 billion. These interventions reflect our determination to ensure that the transformation of our infrastructure is accompanied by a corresponding commitment to the welfare, rights and dignity of our people.
We remain resolute in our pursuit of infrastructure development that strengthens connectivity, stimulates economic activity and broadens access to essential services. Equally, we recognise that the true measure of development lies not merely in the roads we construct or the projects we deliver, but in the lives we improve and the people whose trust we uphold in the process.
Our vision is to build a Kaduna State where progress is inclusive, governance is guided by compassion and responsibility, and the dignity and rights of every citizen are respected. For us, development is not simply about building infrastructure; it is about building a society in which progress is equitable, opportunity is shared, and no one is forgotten.

I had the privilege of receiving a large group of patriotic Nigerians, alongside thousands of their supporters, from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) into the All Progressives Congress (APC). The delegation was led by Alhaji Bashir Saidu, former commissioner for local government, former commissioner of finance, a former Chief of Staff to the Kaduna State Governor, alongside Mal. Jafaru Sani, a former governorship aspirant and former North West Vice Chairman of the ADC.
The group comprised distinguished leaders, former party executives and influential political stakeholders whose wealth of experience, record of service and commitment to public life are widely acknowledged. Their decision to join the APC transcends partisan realignment; it reflects a shared conviction in the imperative of national unity, enduring security, inclusive prosperity and a Nigeria where every citizen has a genuine opportunity to thrive.
This development underscores the growing resonance of the Renewed Hope Agenda championed by our leader, His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. His leadership continues to inspire confidence, rekindle hope and encourage broader participation in the collective endeavour of nation-building. In Kaduna State, we remain resolute in advancing this vision through inclusive governance, sustainable development, responsible leadership and people-centred policies that translate public aspirations into tangible outcomes.
To our new members, I extend a heartfelt welcome to the APC family. Our party is strengthened by the diversity of its membership, the richness of its collective experience and the common purpose that binds us together. Whether longstanding members or new entrants, we all share a responsibility to serve with integrity, deepen our democratic values and advance the welfare of our people. Every member matters and are treated equally, every voice deserves consideration, and every meaningful contribution brings us closer to our shared aspirations. Together, with unity of purpose and an unwavering commitment to service, we will consolidate our achievements, strengthen our party and work diligently towards a more peaceful, prosperous and inclusive future for all.

As a member of the Presidential Working Group on the National Policing Bill, I participated in the detailed consideration of the draft Bill, in furtherance of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to fast-tracking the establishment of State Police and strengthening Nigeria’s security architecture.
The deliberations brought together the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu; the Chief of Staff to the President, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila; the Governor of Kwara State and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, His Excellency, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq; and other members of the Group.
State Police represents a necessary reform in our collective responsibility to protect lives and property. Its effectiveness must rest on a sound legal framework, capable institutions and safeguards that uphold professionalism, protect citizens’ rights and ensure accountability. Our deliberations seek to strengthen community policing, deepen intelligence gathering and enable timely responses to security threats.
I commend His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR for his bold decision and determination to translate the establishment of State Police into reality. This initiative comes at a time when Nigeria needs it most, as we confront evolving security challenges that demand innovative, coordinated and locally responsive solutions. I am confident that subnational governments across the federation stand firmly behind the President in this historic undertaking. Through the Group’s work, we are translating this shared national commitment into concrete legislative and institutional proposals for a more responsive policing system.
For Kaduna State, the imperative is clear: states require greater capacity to complement federal policing efforts and respond to the realities of their communities. I remain committed to helping shape a framework that earns public trust, strengthens cooperation across government and delivers lasting peace and security for every Nigerian, wherever they live, with the urgency this national responsibility demands.

Kaduna Hands Over Yakowa Memorial Hospital in Kafanchan to Federal Government for Upgrade
Kaduna State Governor Senator Uba Sani has transferred the Sir Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa Memorial Hospital in Kafanchan to the Federal Government. The hospital is to be upgraded to a Federal Medical Centre.
The Minister of State for Health, Dr. Iziaq Adekunle Salako, noted the Governor’s approval and facilitation of the transfer. He stated that Kaduna State is aligned with the Federal Government’s healthcare direction under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The Minister acknowledged the Governor’s request that existing hospital staff be protected and integrated into the federal service as federal workers. Stakeholders at the event described the upgrade as significant for residents of Kaduna State, especially in the Kaduna South Senatorial District.
The handover of Sir Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa Memorial Hospital, Kafanchan, to the Federal Government for its upgrade to a Federal Medical Centre advances our commitment to bringing quality, specialised healthcare within reach of communities across Kaduna State.
I welcome the Honourable Minister of State for Health, Dr. Iziaq Adekunle Salako’s commendation of our prompt approval and facilitation of the transfer. His recognition of Kaduna as a leading example of healthcare reform, and a state firmly aligned with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, strengthens our resolve to translate cooperation between governments into lasting improvements in people’s lives.
I am particularly encouraged by the Minister’s commitment to addressing our request for the protection and appropriate integration of the hospital’s existing staff into the federal system. Their experience, dedication and institutional knowledge are indispensable to a successful transition. Safeguarding their welfare must accompany our shared responsibility to preserve continuity of care and strengthen the institution they have faithfully served.
For the people of Kaduna State, particularly Kaduna South Senatorial District, this development answers a longstanding aspiration for greater access to tertiary healthcare. The goodwill expressed by community representatives and other speakers reflects both the significance of this moment and the expectations it carries. We understand those expectations and remain determined to ensure that this partnership delivers tangible benefits to patients and families.
I express our profound appreciation to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare for their partnership. We look forward to sustained investment in infrastructure, modern diagnostic and treatment equipment, and skilled personnel to enable the hospital to fulfil its expanded mandate.
This milestone honours the memory of Sir Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa through a purpose worthy of his legacy: service to humanity. Its enduring value will be measured by lives saved, suffering relieved and families spared the burden of travelling long distances for specialist care.
We will continue to pursue a healthcare system that protects human dignity and gives every resident, irrespective of location or financial circumstances, a fair opportunity to receive the care they need, with compassion, confidence and the assurance of professional attention.

SIGNING INTO LAW THE EXECUTIVE BILL ESTABLISHING KADUNA STATE COLLEGE OF POST-BASIC NURSING SCIENCES, RIGASA
I am delighted to announce that today, I signed into law the Executive Bill establishing the Kaduna State College of Post-Basic Nursing Sciences, Rigasa, reaffirming our commitment to ensuring that every citizen has access to skilled, compassionate and quality healthcare.
This is a deliberate investment in the professionals entrusted with protecting lives. Across our healthcare system, the need for specialist nurses remains pressing. By expanding access to advanced training, we are strengthening our capacity to care for mothers and children, respond to emergencies and support patients whose conditions demand specialised expertise.
With its main campus in Rigasa, the College will provide training in midwifery, mental health, perioperative, paediatric, emergency, intensive care and public health nursing, alongside nursing education and administration. Its programmes will meet the accreditation requirements of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria and other relevant professional authorities.
We are also creating a foundation for clinical research, continuous professional development and partnerships with teaching hospitals, universities and accredited healthcare institutions. Our ambition is to build a centre of excellence where knowledge advances, professional competence deepens and learning translates into better care for our people.
This initiative complements our upgrading of 255 primary healthcare centres, rehabilitation of 16 general hospitals and sustained investment in recruiting and developing healthcare personnel. The value of these facilities ultimately rests on the expertise and dedication of those who serve within them.
We will work to translate this law into a functional institution that strengthens our healthcare workforce and improves health outcomes. Our responsibility is to build a healthcare system worthy of our people’s trust, their dignity and their hopes for tomorrow.
