@RCPath cause of death list 2020 needs updating; UGIBs with natural condition in 1b. should be acceptable and not require ‘spontaneous’ to avoid HMC referral. UGIB on a background of advanced gastric adenocarcinoma is natural yet currently unacceptable with this current standard

I’m sorry but this is fucking awful from BMJ. I personally think there is a role in medicine to think about placebo injections, but childbirth is not it. Women have put up with people not taking their pain seriously for too long, and deserve proper, evidence-based treatments.
