@HannahDutton8 Shifting some focus: to preparing for my sub for the rest of my leave; focusing on getting to know my new teammates
Maintaining focus: on my family and the start of a fitness journey
@HannahDutton8 Week 9: A little late on the post but I was able to give back to some people who gave so much support when Maree was first born. I showed love to my family with food and some presents.
@HannahDutton8 Another perfectly timed theme. This weekend I went to my best friend’s bachelorette. It was great reconnecting with her and her crew! This week I’m looking forward to seeing my aunt that I’ve recently reconnected with and I get to see a coworker from my previous school 🙂
@HannahDutton8 I forget to take a picture, but I started putting my classroom in order. I have some things left to organize next weekend. Once I the physical space is ready, I find it easier to then work on plans. Can’t believe it’s the end of July! #livewell323#323learns#teacherlife
@HannahDutton8 W5: Nourish
I have not always liked vegetables but I have come a long way. One of my all time favorite dishes is a veggie couscous dish. We always double the recipe so we can have leftovers for days! https://t.co/fjVnqefRIs
@HannahDutton8 I think I do pretty well with listening comprehension but I feel like I could do better with phonemic awareness by adding Heggerty back in throughout the day. #shiftthebalance323#323learns
@HannahDutton8 W4Q2: I agree that Fundations helps with some of the earlier shifts and I’m excited to have all the resources to fully implement it. Being more intentional about Ss independent texts will require more time.
@HannahDutton8 Unplugged week:
Monday- all day outside with family
Tuesday- walked with @CusackLeanne
Wednesday- two walks on different parts of the Rock Island trail
Friday- swam in the lake and walked with a friend
Saturday- time outside with good people
@HannahDutton8 W4Q1: I am excited to delve more into Fundations keeping this book in mind. I also want to be more intentional with texts and hfw. #shiftthebalance323#323learns
@HannahDutton8 W3Q3: I use a mix of both at the moment. I would like to find more engaging, decodable texts especially for my struggling readers. I feel like the lower level decodables aren’t always interesting for the kids because usually their oral comprehension is much higher.
@HannahDutton8 W3Q2: I use the F&P kits to do running records for all kids at the start of the year and then for my struggling readers more frequently. I would like to be more purposeful with GR and mark the strategies they use at point of difficulty.
@HannahDutton8 W3Q1: I haven’t necessarily encountered MSV in those terms but like many others I have seen it throughout different reading resources. I always start with sound it out and then work towards checking the pictures and context. Glad I was following the authors.
@CusackLeanne I missed running with the pups so much! I can’t wait to go again! Let me know if you want to run some time. I’m realLu slow but I’ll get there.
Week 3: Move
This challenge was well timed and I went for my first run since December. Running isn’t just about physical fitness but it helps me work through problems and emotions. It is also a way to bond with others. I love using the NikeRunClub app to track/train #livewell323
