Ramesh and Suresh, my two friends, turned 30 this year.

One had ₹20 lakh in savings, while the other one had ₹2 crores.

Both became CAs in 2019.

Ramesh and his family were waiting for him to become a CA so that he could buy a house.

They lived all their lives struggling to pay for the rent each month in Mumbai.

While Suresh's father inherited their residential house and lived comfortably on their two-generation-old family business.

Ramesh had to arrange funds for his own marriage, as his father spent all the money on his and his sibling's education.

While Suresh's father spent a crore on his marriage without even blinking an eye.

Ramesh made his father retire from a toxic factory job while Suresh's father is asking him to leave his job and spend some more time with his family in their business.

Ramesh is the individual who provides for his family (say, Gen-1). While Suresh is someone whose father's living was also provided by his grandfather (say, Gen-2 or Gen-3).

Gen-1 hardly save anything in their initial years, while Gen-2/3 save almost everything from their salaries.

Suresh was feeling like an underachiever. Then I told him this:

How, within just 7-8 years of experience, can you compare yourself to someone who never had to provide for his family's needs?

If a Gen-1 living in a Tier-1 city in India has a net worth of ₹20-25 lakhs by the age of 30 after covering all these expenses, they should pat themselves on the back.

Don’t compare yourself to others—circumstances vary.

भिवंडी मध्ये इमारत कोसळली त्यात लोकांना मदत करणारा जवान विकास गोरे...कामावरून घरी जाताना खड्ड्यात पडून जीव गेला...कुटुंबीय कंत्राटदार विरोधात पोलिसांमध्ये तक्रार करायला गेले तर पोलिस प्रश्न विचारतात, तुमच्या मुलाला खड्डा दिसला नाही का?
म्हणजे खड्ड्यात पडून नागरिक मेले तर ती जबाबदारी नागरिकांची आहे...सरकारची नाही!

पोलिसांचा इतका शहाणपणा आहे की ते दुखी कुटुंबियांना अक्कल शिकवत आहे...इतक्या पावसात खड्डा का दिसला नाही..असे संवेदनशील पोलिस असल्यावर न्याय कसा मिळणार?
