@SageCanaday The point is you could cut the global population in half and still have these issues and u can increase population and still solve them so they are NOT RELATED
@SageCanaday Correction: due to immigration and βpopulation momentumβ itβs not true actually every developed nation is shrinking but it is true their birth rates are below replacement level
@SageCanaday Third: birth rates are plummeting everywhere. Soon every nation will be trying to Increase birth rates. Every developed nation is shrinking in population right now.
@SageCanaday Crowds is about people having more disposable income to see beautiful places which is a good thing! We could design better ways to allocate the scarce resource of these places to maximize their value to people. Once again this is Not related to number of people.
@SageCanaday We have the technology to solve climate change right now with renewable energy and electrify everything: cars, heat pumps, stoves and batttery storage. keep fossil fuels in the ground &climate change is solved. This is Not related to the number of people. Read Hanna Ritchie book
@pntrack Iβd like to hear from a high school girls coach that 3 200s with walk back rest has predicted their 400 as u describe. I really want to know
@pntrack You didnβt answer the question. They ran the 150s in 20/21 sec avg and none of them came close to running a 60/63 400. Im coaching average high school girls. Not elite times. I use freelap and they do typical 30m fly. Their 100m matches 10m/30m fly. Their 400 time does not.
@pntrack I know u have the receipts for high school boys. I believe you. Iβm asking has 3 200s consistently predicted a high school girls 400? Iβve done the 3x150m workout and add up the time and it is not accurate for high school girls. I conclude that high school girls need tempo work
@pntrack I agree 400 is speed event. Does a high school girls coach find these 3 200s Predicts what they can do in a 400? 5 200s at backend 400 pace is 400 pace. They ainβt jogging.
@hansonsrun@CoachDistance I Agree with the principle but the athletes donβt choose the competition the coaches do. Now they will be excited about easy competition meets instead of the more competitive races we are choosing for them. Plus we want to celebrate PRs for everyone. Easy objective metric
@northpointxctf@CoachDistance@hammannr We do 21:30 as varsity time standard for high schoolgirls. Isnβt this more equivalent to 18:30 for boys? I think getting the same place in a meet is about one minute slower per mile for girls. Why have a 4 minute slower varsity letter standard for girls?
My latest for @YaleE360 and @FERNnews: @USDA is pouring more than $3 billion into "climate-smart" farming intended to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and sequester carbon in farm soils. https://t.co/yg08CwL7gu
@CoachTBau@strengthpfiz@BrendanThompsn we do except we have a color marked thick string that we pull straight and it shows where to place the cones. So also we use small cheap soccer cones so it doesnβt matter if they step on them. Just having something for them to step over improved their sprint mechanics
@SustainP @ProfSecchi Can we mandate all Iowans (and my state Ohioans) watch this? Would it matter? I guess hurry up with the electric cars so ethanol goes away at least which forces option 1: a lot less corn.
@itsdannyrap@CoachDistance I agree some uncertainty some times but also they know a race plan ahead of time and the work ahead on race day so good to tell them key workouts ahead of time so they mentally ready for it just like race day.
