In Songwa, Hwange, @ZrcsRed members returned after a lightning strike to help an elderly woman secure her home. In Malilangwe, others spent the day helping a widow in her field.

Reflecting on my visit to Malawi last week,one thing is clear: stronger preparedness&response drive better disaster management. That is why the @MalawiRedCross is building a first-of-its-kind Emergency Operations Centre in Blantyre.Encouraged to see the strong progress firsthand.

This EOC is more than a building. In a region that faces recurrent floods and other shocks, it will become the nerve centre for coordination, information, and decision-making—helping ensure faster, more effective action to protect communities.

The @IFRC Secretary General @Jagan_Chapagain arrived in #Lesotho yesterday as part of his regional mission to South Africa, Lesotho and Botswana.

Today, alongside @CharlesBusinge1 and @KopanoMasilo6, he joined @LesothoRedCross and Hon. Minister Limpho Tau for the signing of a key cooperation agreement — reaffirming our shared commitment to humanitarian action.

The SG's visit includes meetings with Red Cross teams, national authorities, visits to project sites, and key advocacy engagements.
