@hansenjames Seems analogous to the Spurs with a caveat… they got Fox in season to be the ball handler then got a pick where Harper was in a tier by himself. Jazz have the luxury of not needing to make that same decision. AJ/DP are same tier and avoids long term roster crunch.
@hansenjames JJJ is a 4 who can only play 5 sporadically because of his rebounding. Lauri could fit with Boozer, but JJJ couldn’t. Only way a Boozer draft makes sense is if Utah traded JJJ for a haul better than what they gave up. Don’t find that likely.
@Tjonesonthenba Can you please explain to Jazz fans in plain terms why drafting Boozer (a 4) makes no sense - unless you trade JJJ (a 4). Trading Lauri wouldn’t solve anything. JJJ can’t play 5 (rebounding), so it’s either Peterson at 1.2 or draft Boozer and deal JJJ. Thoughts?
Speaking as a conservative… the talking point of the “economy” being great because the stock market is at “all time highs” doesn’t matter to the average American who cares more about the cost of groceries, utility bills, gas, etc. You’re out of touch with normal people.
@TheChadWithrow So were you angrier about life four years ago? Because it cost more than for gas. Inflation was also higher. All objective economic measures are better now than they were then. But consumer sentiment was higher then.
@brdennis51@SamQuinnCBS Totally get it. My point is we (Jazz fans) shouldn’t live in our fear. Worrying about if they want to stay 8 years into the pro career is silly. It seems prudent to stay at 2 and take 1B vs. mortgaging assets for an outcome not guaranteed 8 years from now.
@sluhm If your eval of him is at that level, fair enough. It seems like (I could be wrong) his attending BYU and perceived acceptance of Utah as a viable destination is clouding most fans’ perception of him as a prospect on the level of Flagg. I don’t believe he is in that tier.
The Jazz getting the second pick is the perfect scenario. Takes the Dybantsa decision out of their hands when Peterson is easily the best roster fit. @hansenjames@Tjonesonthenba
@McCadeP8 Just to clarify your point… because a draft 23 years ago resulted in the second pick being a bust, the Jazz should do whatever they can to avoid picking second overall?
@hansenjames Jazz fans (presumably those who live in Utah) being willing to trade the world to move up one spot for a guy who is just as valuable as the player at pick 2 is alarming.
@Aka_WhiteMamba@SleeperWizards@SleeperJazz@Sleeper_Hoops Please explain this psychosis of being afraid of taking anyone who “doesn’t want to play in Utah”. With RFA any player a team drafts controls them for 7 years minimum. Are we worried about the 2033 season? What are we talking about?
