SIX KUKI CIVILIANS — WHY ARE THEY BEING TARGETED?

Serious questions must be answered over the reported detention of six Kuki civilians in Kangpokpi. The poster alleges that they were detained after defending their ancestral village amid attacks attributed by Kuki-Zo organisations to armed groups operating around the Chawangkining–Kholen area. Those allegations remain matters for investigation and should not be treated as established facts without evidence.

But one principle is non-negotiable:

A civilian must not be treated as a criminal simply because they belong to a particular community or live in a conflict-affected village.

If these six people have been arrested, the authorities must immediately disclose the FIR, sections of law, grounds for arrest and evidence against each individual, while respecting their right to legal representation and due process.

At the same time, allegations of armed attacks against Kuki villages must receive the same seriousness. Recent reports describe the September 15 attack around Kholen and allegations by CoTU and KADC concerning NSCN-IM and ZUF-Kamson involvement; the responsibility of specific individuals must be established through an impartial investigation.

WHY ARREST CIVILIANS WITHOUT CLEARLY PRESENTING THE EVIDENCE?
WHY NOT INVESTIGATE EVERY ARMED ATTACK WITH THE SAME URGENCY?
WHY SHOULD CIVILIANS FEAR BOTH ARMED ATTACKERS AND ARBITRARY ACTION?

Security forces have a duty to protect civilians, prevent attacks and enforce the law impartially. Recent official records also show that Manipur Police, CoBRA and CRPF have conducted armed operations in Kangpokpi against suspected insurgent camps, demonstrating that security operations are already taking place in the district.

Therefore, the demand is clear:

SHOW THE EVIDENCE.
FOLLOW DUE PROCESS.
INVESTIGATE EVERY ATTACK.
PROTECT EVERY CIVILIAN.
NO SELECTIVE JUSTICE.
NO ARBITRARY DETENTION.
NO IMPUNITY.
LET EVIDENCE — NOT IDENTITY — DETERMINE RESPONSIBILITY.

The Naga-Kuki conflict in India's Northeast is intensifying dramatically, as evidenced by a recent viral video depicting Naga militants torching numerous homes in Molnoi Kuki village, located along the Indo-Myanmar border in Kamjong.

This escalating dispute centers around the demand for protected status and governance over traditional hill lands within Manipur state.

Three Kuki civilians, including two women, were killed and four others injured after suspected NSCN-IM and ZUF-K cadres attacked N. Teikhang village along IT Road under T. Waichong in Kangpokpi district on Sunday around 9:30 am. Sources said armed cadres fired indiscriminately and torched houses, forcing villagers to flee. The deceased are Lamtinthang Lhoujem, Tingneichin Lhouvum and Hoineng Lhoujem. Four injured are under treatment. The village has been razed. Security forces are assessing the situation. Official confirmation is awaited.

🚨 URGENT APPEAL — OPEN THE SENAPATI–KANGPOKPI HIGHWAY

We urgently appeal to the Supreme Court of India, Government of India, NIA, CBI and concerned authorities to take immediate action to reopen and secure the highway between Senapati and Kangpokpi.

The continued disruption is causing severe hardship to civilians. Patients are struggling to obtain medicines, while food, rice and other essential commodities are running short. Free movement of civilians, medical supplies and essential goods must be protected.

There are serious allegations of armed individuals stopping and threatening truck drivers along the highway, with allegations involving NSCN-IM, ZUF/Kamson Group and other armed actors. Any such allegations must be independently investigated, and anyone found responsible must face the law.

We also urge authorities to examine all allegations concerning organisations supporting or facilitating the blockade, including United Naga Council, Senapati District student bodies, JTM, NPO and ANSAM, based strictly on evidence.

WE DEMAND:

🔴 Immediately reopen the highway.
🔴 Deploy adequate Central security forces.
🔴 Protect civilians and truck drivers.
🔴 Ensure uninterrupted food and medical supplies.

NSCN-IM Attacks Kuki Farmers at C. Kholen Farmhouse, Point-Blank Firing Caught on Video

Armed Kacha-Naga Tangkhul-led NSCN-IM cadres allegedly opened fire on Kuki farmers from C. Kholen at 7:50 AM on 28th Aug while ploughing fields. Farmers released video saying they were shot at from point-blank range but escaped unhurt. C. Kholen Village Authority condemned the attack, called it unprovoked and sought central forces. It urged Govt of India to review peace talks with NSCN-IM. The authority said the 2026 Kuki-Naga conflict was started by Naga groups with land claims and farm blockades since early 2026.

It was an altercation between friends, a Naga and a Mizo guy. Further, the injuries are apparently not grievous in nature.

On 27 August 2026, four manipuri naga militants were killed in a firing incident that broke out between NSCN(IM) and ZUF(Kamson) between Makui Ashang and Makui Thanamba along the IT Road.

Today, three innocent Kuki-Zo civilians, including two unarmed women, were brutally murdered at point-blank range at Teikhang Village, IT Road, by cadres of the Tangkhul-led NSCN-IM and its affiliate, ZUF-Kamson.

In light of this tragic incident, may I respectfully urge you to come out of your silence and make a similar appeal to Shri Losii Dikho, Hon'ble Deputy Chief Minister, as well.

These deaths demand urgent, independent and transparent investigation. The accompanying document attributes the incidents to NSCN-IM, Eastern Flank and ZUF-K; these allegations should be formally investigated and established through evidence, forensic examination and due process.

There are further allegations of coordinated activities involving NSCN-IM, NSCN Eastern Flank, ZUF Kamson Group, and other armed networks, with claims of support or coordination involving the Shan National Army, Myanmar military/Junta-linked elements, Manipur-based armed groups, and organisations named in the allegations. Any alleged links involving the United Naga Council, Senapati District student bodies, JTM, NPO, ANSAM and Tangkhul CSOs must be investigated individually on the basis of evidence.

Where was your Christianity when more than 1,500 Kukis were killed in the 1990s, including innocent infants, by the Tangkhul-led NSCN-IM?

Where was your Christianity when the Meiteis demanded Scheduled Tribe (ST) status, and we stood together as tribal communities under the umbrella of ATSUM to oppose the demand? But when the conflict erupted on 3 May 2023, you chose to stand alongside the Meitei side while Kukis were attacked, displaced, and killed.

Thousands of innocent Kukis are still waiting for justice—for their fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, and babies who were killed in 90s.

Were we not satisfied with the killings of Kukis in the 1990s? And now, in 2026, even targeting and killed our pastors?

Christianity is not merely about preaching humanity. It is about standing for truth, justice, compassion, and the dignity of every human life.

Before asking others to “be more human and Christian,” perhaps we should first ask ourselves: Where were our humanity and Christian conscience when our own fellow human beings were suffering?

You even stopped food supplies from reaching your fellow Christians’ areas. You even disrupted medical supplies to the Waichong area. Is this Christianity?
