People don't understand Napoleon's insane work ethic. Napoleon had secretaries rotating shifts so that he could wake up in the middle of the night and start dictating. Napoleon would sleep 3-4 hours on campaign in 15-30 minute segments so he could always be giving orders. Napoleon would read for 12hrs+ on abstruse subjects in a single day. Napoleon would position cannons himself when he saw soldiers not manning them. You think you're working hard enough but you're not. When you study the greats of history you realize the true level of output that it takes to be known by posterity.

So of course, my WOKE ALARM went off and I asked Google AI:

The NGOs end up increasing the number of homeless people they manage, because that’s the only way to increase their revenue! Incentives drive outcomes.

“Homeless” is a propaganda word used to describe people on the street who are mentally ill or severely addicted to drugs. The word implies that this is someone who fell a little behind on their mortgage payment and they’re one job offer away from getting back on their feet, which is obviously false if you’ve ever tried talking to a “homeless” person in SF, LA, NY, Austin or anywhere else.

The honest reality is that we need to bring back asylums for extreme mental illness or drug addiction for those who are a serious danger to themselves or others.

Anthropic's CEO Dario Amodei warned the UN that AI could be used to make bioweapons. The same day, Anthropic announced a biology lab for its AI.

Dario Amodei told the UN Security Council that AI could be a danger to all of humanity. He said in one or two years, maybe less, AI could be like a country full of geniuses. And he named bioweapons as one of the biggest risks.

It all sounds nice. But this is my question to him.

You're worried AI could be a disaster, yet you're building a lab for the same AI you're warning the world about.

Are we supposed to trust you? Or are you saying you're the only sane person who can put AI to work on biology?

The easiest way AI could wipe out humanity is through a bio lab. You named bioweapons as a top risk yourself. By your own words, this AI is advanced and dangerous. And now you're giving it the tool it would need.

What are you playing at?

Sorry to state the obvious, but if someone has to hand you power, they have more power than you do.

There’s something objectively hilarious about arguing that women are uniquely qualified to run the world while constructing a hypothetical in which the people currently running it have to suspend the normal mechanisms by which humans acquire power and simply “put” women in charge.

If women were categorically better at acquiring, wielding, and maintaining power, we wouldn’t need a two-year global Make-A-Wish program where someone hands us the keys to civilization to prove it.

We’d have the fucking keys.
