When you start making good money, save it. Especially in the beginning. Save as much as you can. You'll desire things. New car, new watch, designer clothes to show the world you made it. And dumb philosophies will try to justify it. YOLO, life is short. Don't pay attention. Don't change anything. Save for a few years. And one day you'll notice, the urgency is gone. The anxiety... gone. You go to a restaurant, and you stop looking at the right side of the menu. You plan a holiday and you don't wait 3 weeks for cheap flights. Someone made you an offer that doesn't feel right, and you say no without thinking twice. That's what happens when you overcome instant gratification. It will give you peace to move at your own pace. A little patience, that's all you need. And it will give you something that no material object can ever match: a calm nervous system.
Kujeni niwapigie story ya the biggest hustle in modern tech history.
Please sit down, haya , kuna jama anaitwa Trevor Milton, manze uski aliosha wasee na muosho mmoja 😂😂😂. Jango iliuzia investors hewa bruv.
Hii ndo a perfect example ya fake it till you make it my guys.
Haya, pale 2014, Milton founded Nikola Motor Company. His Mission was to build revolutionary hydrogen-powered semi-trucks.
Back then, a vision like that was pure gold, investors ni akina nani, wanataka kukua ahead of time ofcourse they jumped in head first. 🫢
Millions of dollars started pouring in. Everyone thought they found the next Nikola Tesla.
Lakini kulkua na ngori moja bwaku, techn ya kufanya hiyo mambo, didn’t exist. Lakini wasee hawajui hivo 😂.
So By 2018, hype was at an all-time high. Milton alireleas vida ya , ya truck moja yao ikicruise kwa highway kwa mteremko, kama imesonga mbaya, top speed msee.
It looked sleek, futuristic, and fully functional. Mainvestors walikua wanashangilia aje, wamejaa confidence.
Stock zika shoot level ingine mwecheche 😂,uski Milton by asubuhi alikua already anaitwa billionaire.
Lakini kuna watu kadha walimshuku, Hapo ndio mchezo ilianza walianza kutaka kujua Milton ni nani.
Short-sellers did some digging and exposed the ultimate trickery. Ile truck kwa ile vida, haikua inaendeshwa ama kujiendesha zae, msee uski hadi haikua na engine yeyote, ata ile engine normal haikua,it was an empty shell,so how did they pull that stunt off?.
Milton na team yake walitow hiyo trailer to the top of a long hill na wakaiachilia iende.
They literally used gravity to simulate the truck, filmed it at a clever angle, and accelerated the footage. They sold a rolling chassis as a tech revolution! 😭😭😭
As the truth came out, Nikola’s stock crashed harder than a bad habit.
September 2020, Hindenburg Research waliandika repoti calling Nikola "an intricate fraud built on an ocean of lies."
Milton akaresign within ten days.
Alafu akakua convicted of securities fraud and wire fraud 2022.
He was sentenced to four years in prison, never served a day.
Alilipa bail ya 100 million dollars, stayed free, and donated 3.2 million dollars to Donald Trump's 2024 campaign alongside his wife.
March 2025, Trump akampea full pardon yenye ilierase 168 million dollars pesa ya mashareholders.
After mwezi moja, Nikola walifile bankruptcy, nahivo ndo walitoka wasee doh yao.
The moral of the story? Never let flashy presentations blind you from checking under the hood. In the world of tech, copy-pasting the hype without the substance will eventually catch up to you.
For f*ck sake. Be optimistic. Be extreme. Be relentless. The world is waiting for you to raise the bar and finally go all in. Execute. Inspire. Show us what’s possible.
The Ashanti people of Ghana built furniture so significant it started a war. Their stools were not just common stools. Each one was carved from a single piece of wood, shaped to reflect the owner’s identity, status and soul. The Golden Stool was considered so sacred that when the British Governor demanded to sit on it in 1900, the Ashanti took up arms rather than allow it.
Today, Ghana imports plastic chairs from China.
Tukiwa Maandamano ya Finance Bill, 3 plain clothes Police officers, walikuja "kuandamana" next to me, if you've ever been to Narok, tukaenda kusimama hapo Hass, alafu mmoja akaniambia, "huyu Ruto aende, sisi wananchi tunateseka sana," I told him; imagine kama wewe polisi unasema hivo na sisi wananchi sasa? Majamaa hawakunijibu, walitoka tu polepole, wakaenda🤣🤣 They thought they can trick me.
There's a clay tablet with the founding charter of a 12-partner company on it. Twelve merchants pooled 33 pounds of gold to start the firm. The contract has the partner names, the starting capital, the profit split, and the penalty for cashing out early.
The tablet is nearly 4,000 years old. It was found at a site called Kanesh, in central Turkey. Archaeologists have dug up 23,500 of these clay records there, most of them business documents: receipts, loan contracts, shipping orders, lawsuits. The houses they were stored in eventually burned. The fire baked the clay solid and preserved every record.
The merchants came from Assur, in modern-day Iraq. They loaded donkeys with tin and cloth and walked them 1,000 kilometers across mountain passes to Kanesh, roughly the distance from New York to Atlanta. Each donkey carried about 180 pounds and the trip took two to three months. They came home with silver and gold.
The company ran for twelve years under a merchant named Amur Ishtar. A third of the profits went back to the investors. Pull your share out early and the firm gave you four kilos of silver per kilo of gold, half the normal rate. Locked-up money was meant to stay locked up.
That one company was just a tiny piece. The tablets show a complete economy with partners suing each other in commercial court, husbands writing home about prices, and wives writing back complaining the husband had been gone too long. A woman named Ahatum quietly lent silver to four different men over nine years. People bought up other people's loan documents and used them as collateral for new loans, the same thing Wall Street does today with mortgage-backed securities. One merchant got caught smuggling tin in his underwear to dodge a 10% import tax.
In 2019, four economists from Harvard, Sciences Po, Chicago, and Virginia ran the tablet numbers through a gravity model, the math economists use today to predict how much two countries will trade based on size and distance. The Bronze Age numbers matched modern trade numbers almost exactly. Trade fell off with distance at nearly the same rate it does between countries today. The paper ran in the Quarterly Journal of Economics.
There was no economic theory yet. The idea didn't even have a name. The word "capitalism" wouldn't be coined for another 3,800 years, and Adam Smith was 3,700 years away from writing a sentence about markets. Just a guy named Pushu-ken writing a clay tablet to his business partner about a shipment of cloth, and a woman in Assur recording who owed her how much silver. Capitalism was already there, doing its full job, almost four thousand years before anyone wrote down a theory of how it worked.
We have to give it up to one Rubani @KhalifKairo,He did something with the Audi Q5s, and now he has singlehandedly carried Porsche Cayenne on his back in KE. And EastAfrica
