Another day, another Kuki village being set ablaze by NSCN-IM militants. Despite the Kuki-Zo people being on the receiving end of MeiteiโKacha Naga hegemony, they continue to be conveniently portrayed by these groups as the villains, even as they see themselves as the victims.
Kuki Inpi Jiribam, Tamenglong & Noney (JTN) has strongly condemned the attack on Leikot Kuki Village in Noney District on 2 July 2026. According to the organization, heavily armed NSCN-IM militants overpowered local village volunteers, set the village ablaze and caused extensive damage. JTN described the incident as a grave act of aggression against civilians, questioned the adequacy of the government's security arrangements and urged the Central @PMOIndia and Manipur governments @YKhemchandSingh to conduct an impartial investigation, bring the perpetrators to justice, strengthen security and ensure the safety and dignity of the affected villagers.

1. I have observed delayed police response, or complete silence as if nothing has happened, when civilians in Noney, Tamenglong, Ukhrul, and Kamjong districts have come under attack.
2. I hereby submit supporting information/evidence in Annexure-A regarding persons/groups allegedly involved in the incident of arson at Leikot Village today. The material includes photographs and video clips with date-time stamps.
3. If Manipur Police represent all communities equally, I humbly request you to kindly direct the Superintendent of Police, Noney District and the Superintendent of Police, Tamenglong District to register an FIR and apprehend the perpetrators identified in the attached evidence, in accordance with law.
