@ms_maxwell181 Gimkit ( I wish it was free) and Blooket. I primarily use them to review but I would like to get some end of lesson time in. They are so much more willing to interact during a "game."
@KellyLWhaley1 I try and give my students as much time to interact as possible. This or that, would you rather, joke time etc is how we start class almost every day.
@MrsWarren182 I have not. My hesitation is that my students are (technically almost) old enough to have personal accounts. Since many do I worry about blurring the lines and keeping them and myself safe.
@MathWithMsJones With so many options but also so many limiting factors, I have been struggling. I like peardeck for informal formatives during lessons, Google slides for assignments & Schoology assessments. I want to expand to flipgrid/video responses.#wuedt6020
@EDTElizabeth Instructional videos are great but I love using Loom to screen record small things, especially for the "my child says they cannot find the assignment" moments. I like that I can share the link and see the amount of views. #wuedt6020
@msg_esl I will continue to use Schoology. I love the transparency in the assignments and not finding worksheets for missing work. However I honestly miss just being able to run copies. Cross out activities or leave out pages when we run out of time. #wuedt6020
@esl2converse@McCoolWILMu I love this tip! So much is on YouTube. No one naturally knows how to work tech. It is a matter of exploring and finding tips. Really smart thinking too to create a resources of tips. I have forgotten things before and had to start over. #wuedt6020
@MathWithMsJones@McCoolWILMu I have gotten so many tech tips from students! My team says I am the guru but a 10 year old taught me to share the sound on Zoom... I tell my students we are modeling how to adjust to changes and keep moving forward. Social emotional learning right?#wuedt6020
@msg_esl Yes! I could not agree more. Take the time to learn one, search for answers or tutorials. Too often I hear teachers do not know how to use some kind of tech but if they just committed to mastering one, their life would be easier.
@McCoolWILMu My advice would be that no one expects you to be perfect. Programs will fail, tech won't always be a right fit. Give yourself grace and set goals in your tech journey. The Education is important the app is not. #wuedt6020
@hyperteacher93@McCoolWILMu I found this idea online & I can't take credit. It is a game that I use sometimes called "turn your camera on if..." I make a statement, if it applies to the student they turn their camera on if it does not apply they turn their camera off. Saw some students for the 1st time ever
