What struck me in this photo is that there’s a street named after Count Bernadotte: he was a Swedish diplomat who saved 31,000 from Nazi concentration camps, became the UN’s first mediator in Palestine, backed the Palestinian right of return and then in 1948 was assassinated in Jerusalem by the Zionist Stern Gang.

I've kept horses and rabbits my whole life (and that's a very long time 😅), bought a hell of a lot of bales of hay and straw in that time, and had maybe three or four instances of finding animal remains in any of them.
