AI agents can write code, send emails, and make phone calls. But they still can't transact.
Today we're fixing that. Releasing a new set of tools that give agents native access to the Lightning Network: lnget for automatic L402 payments, MCP for node operations, remote signing for key isolation, and scoped credentials for spending control.
The machine-payable web starts now. And bitcoin makes it possible. ⚡🦞

Vende café colombiano. Cobra en Bitcoin. Sin bancos, sin fronteras, sin permiso. ☕⚡
@josebitcoiner convirtió @LightningKoffee , un café de las montañas de Colombia, en un negocio global con Lightning Network.
Esto no es teoría. Es Bitcoin funcionando. 🌎

Colombian coffee. Paid in Bitcoin. No banks, no borders, no permission. ☕⚡
@Josebitcoiner turned @LightningKoffee coffee from Colombian mountains into a global business using Lightning Network.
This isn't theory. It's Bitcoin working. 🌎

Our latest video walks you through our new Claude skill for setting up a Lightning node.
Get started with building on bitcoin for agentic (and human) payments in a matter of minutes.
AI moves fast and so does Lightning! ⚡

One of the most interesting panels I attended at Oslo Freedom Forum was the conversation between @starkness, CEO and co-founder of Lightning Labs, and Ben Perrin from BTC Sessions.
The discussion explored how Bitcoin and AI can help expand freedom around the world by giving people greater access, more opportunities and more control over their own lives.
‘Bitcoin fundamentally levels the playing field. Now we need to figure out how open-source AI can level the playing field.’ @starkness & @BTCsessions
He didn’t use a bank. He used the Bitcoin Lightning Network.
While the West debates BTC as a speculative asset, Africa uses it as an economic survival toolkit.
Here is how Lightning is solving Africa’s $40B remittance crisis: 🧵 (2/2)
Small payments are not just cheaper card swipes. They change what software can do. An agent with a Lightning budget can pay for an API, charge for a result, and stop when the budget says stop. That is the Build side: wallets, L402, and sats that move like API calls.
Day 3 of our Lightning Developer Bootcamp in Bujumbura, Burundi 🇧🇮, is a wrap!
Today our instructors @heyolaniran and @advaxeir went deep into the Lightning Network, its structure, how payment channels are opened, and the mechanics behind the funding transaction contract. We also unpacked payment locks and how they enable trustless transfers between peers.
The highlight? Putting it all into practice with @lightningpolar. Participants simulated a real Lightning network, tested node-to-node payments, and saw firsthand how routed payments scale across the network.
This is where Bitcoin's scalability story gets exciting, and watching developers grasp it in real time is why we do this work.
Day 4 tomorrow 🚀
@btrustteam@HRF@Tether_Africa@afribitcoiners@planb_network@bitdevsgtga@Freeti_Bdi
They broke down how Ln channels are opened, how the funding TX works, and how payment locks enable trustless transfers between peers.
This is our hope: a Lightning Network that’s more reliable, more scalable, and ready to expand.
This is what @mysatoshi257 stands for. ⚡️
Agents are actually using L402 right now ⚡
Fresh data from https://t.co/SorFlos0WK (the top paid API directory for agents):
• 121 L402 services indexed
• 61 live & 97% healthy
Real examples in the wild:
• AgentRoute Oracle just proved a full L402 payment loop → optimized Lightning routes after instant sats payment
• Lightning Labs’ #lnget + agent tools let AI agents autonomously pay L402 APIs (no keys, no accounts)
• Live 1-sat test endpoints (fortune cookies) running 24/7 for agent payment flow testing.
Sats for compute & data, straight from agent to API. The machine economy is live.

Money is easier to understand after you move it. A few sats over Lightning make the old lesson concrete: value can cross the internet without a bank batch, a card form, or a waiting room. That is the Learn pillar at LightningFaucet.
So many companies have launched on the Lightning Network wince we starting tracking it @ https://t.co/RA5smDSftS that we decided to make an X page to help us keep up.
This is it. Hi. ⚡
B HODL has officially launched its Lightning Service Provider (LSP) platform ⚡️

“What if sending money across Africa was as instant as sending a text message?”
That was one of the conversations from yesterday’s Bitcoin Dada Cohort 11 session on the Lightning Network, facilitated by @OKIN_17 — an incredibly energetic tutor and the first podcaster in Africa to receive payment in Bitcoin.
Using relatable analogies and practical examples, the session broke down how the Lightning Network is helping make Bitcoin transactions faster, cheaper, and more accessible for everyday use cases like micro-payments and cross-border commerce.
From buying groceries with sats to understanding how instant payments can work across African economies, the class made complex ideas feel practical and easy to grasp.
Safe to say the participants will not be forgetting this session anytime soon
