@hoski67 'Makes you think how ungovernable a Scexit Scotland would be' as compared to a UK that has had 7 prime ministers in 10 years. The UK is a joke. It always was and always will be.
@DickWinchester@HebHomes@JohnSwinney Strange. My home is also stone built, listed and very much older than yours. I have systematically renovated it over 40 yrs. Stripping it room by room to the bare walls. Improving the wall ventilation while insulating it internally & fitting per room electronic heating controls.
@kinghq01@DrNeilStone So what. You pay through the nose for medical insurance. We pay via our taxes. Here it's paid for by everyone. Everyone, whether a tax payer or not (children) gets medical care for acute or chronic conditions and more. From birth to death. No medical bankrupts here.
@hote1ca1afornia@thatchrisfeeney Is that the same Rangers who trashed Barcelona in 1972. I arrived there in the summer to see my sister. The first thing my she said to me was "If you get stopped by the police don't say your from Scotland. Speak Polish to them."
Some things never change. Clowns.
@martinjwhunter1@devisridhar That would be right. I battled into town in my wee homemade car and had to stop part way to clear the heavy wet snow from the windscreen.
May is a fickle month here in the east. The cold North Sea spreads those spooky chill blankets. If you're lucky they clear by midday.
@flcro@devisridhar I had just started my PhD and that summer we had a summer school where I kept apologising to the attendees about the good weather. In 76 I got into Croquet. Vicious game.
@d_foubert My Great Aunt Eva was Hungarian. As she aged she lost her English, German and Polish leaving only Hungarian. Until that point we were able to communicate and care for her quite well. As a family we managed, Mum most of all but latterly Hungarian left us stuck.
@thomasforth In my opinion Manchester is the orange line by making a comparison with the previous graphs. Edinburgh is the green line by virtue of the steep rise post 1999 and the big upset of the post subprime crash. This leaves London as the blue line and I'll leave any comparisons to you.
@halldouglas206@PastGlasgow I may smell of many things especially after a hard days graft in the garden. But even so, I've found that most things olfactory are short range, very localised and of the individual concerned.
@halldouglas206@PastGlasgow Certainly not for the likes of yourself other than for avoidance. Got a life, bairns, grandbairns, friends, a very comfortable retirement (22 years). Sad is only a word I use when describing the likes of yourself. And yes I have a 'dik' (SIC).
@halldouglas206@PastGlasgow Patently. These world-renowned figures who quietly make the world a better place with no fuss, no fanfare so that stupid ignorant people can pontificate on social media and let their bellies rumble.
@halldouglas206@PastGlasgow I think Professor Sir James Whyte Black, if he was still with us and others, would have enjoyed sweeping away your stupidity.
@gabbrust@MaMoMVPY It's all relative. We enjoy the south of France but only in autumn, winter and early spring. The summer heat is unbearable. My sister has lived in Spain for over 50 years and every year she complains about the heat. I struggle when the thermometer goes above 25C. I like it cool.
@SimonForrest11 Put your money where your mouth is. I did. Just meters away from the Cowdenbeath mural you have in your bio, I built several companies, employed and trained loads of people. These are simple commodity products where no special skills are required. Scotland is better than this.
@gabbrust@MaMoMVPY Here in Scotland, famous for its "bad weather" winter or summer, we say there is no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes.
@johnkartch@JamesTate121 Oh and it was all paid through taxation. No extras. No additional charges. Just expert care and service with a smile. That includes aftercare and all ongoing medication. All paid for by taxation. No insurance, no fuss, just care as needed for all.
