Quick Superlogical demo to end the week. This demo is just of the basic functionality, but I want to highlight just how FAST it is. There's a WHOLE lot more functionality already present and coming but I wanted to keep the demo short. But seriously, check out that speed.
I'm showing the macOS app here and I get asked a lot so let me just say up front: its not macOS only. We're still figuring out exactly what platforms will be stable enough for the initial public release, but we're working on others. In particular, the web interface is very functional but I'll demo that another time (or someone else will).
This is also all showing off the architecture I previously talked about for terminal multiplexing which is significantly different from other mainstream multiplexers: this is all a custom binary protocol where the server is maintaining N replica distributed terminal state machines. It works!
Tons of hard work going into this by the team @almonk@dizzyup@pearkes. Hope we can bring you something you can use soon. ❤️ Happy to answer questions in the replies.
Amongst my friends, Spotify is the lowest quality consumer app we still pay for. It certainly hasnt gotten noticeably better in the last couple years (arguably worse). So, this is not the positive look Ant and Spotify are spinning here.
Bigger picture, this is the problem with a lot of AI reporting. It reports completely meaningless metrics like deploys per day or LoC. Why don’t we start reporting consumer satisfaction reports? Actually end state research results.
All the no nuance AI people always come out and think that this is anti AI. Again, I think AI is great and Claude is great. But this is bad marketing and makes both look like clowns.
Markdown vs HTML. Every time we go from a semantically dense to a semantically sparse format, we lose. Even more today where less tokens from the same content is way better. I can understand we need a better markdown. I can't understand we should replace it with HTML.

A new paper, "The Leaderboard Illusion", offers a 68 page critique of the how the popular @lmarena_ai leaderboard might be gamed by large AI labs with deep pockets. Here's my attempt at adding some extra context to the issues described in the paper.

@ThePrimeagen@teej_dv Also, in case I get into any further arguments on the internet, and I really can't see why that would happen, I'm just going to make this call to authority the default response: PRIME TIME SAID I WAS RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHING!
⭐️ Newest blog post: Why do I use a single init.lua or vimrc file? I successfully used a single vimrc file for ~20 years, and in my newest post, I've outlined my thoughts and the benefits of using a single configuration file. Check it out:
