One year ago, the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation started operating militarised food distribution points in Gaza. Today, people are still living with the consequences of the injuries they received when they desperately sought food.

During my visit to Darfur, Sudan, I met @MSF colleagues at Zalingei hospital, where drone strikes regularly occur just outside the walls. During mass casualty events, they work under intense pressure to save lives.
The world must not look away from the conflict in Sudan.
I visited Zalingei Teaching hospital in Central Darfur, Sudan, earlier this month. The hospital had been bombed and looted and I was proud to see the work that our teams had achieved in restoring healthcare to people – something that should never have been lost.
Together with @ICRC and @WHO, to mark 10 years of Resolution 2286, we’re calling on world leaders to act and show the political leadership needed to end attacks on medical care.
Healthcare must never be a casualty of war:

In 2016, the international community reaffirmed that the wounded and sick, as well as those who care for them, must be protected.
That attacks on healthcare continue to occur 10 years on is a failure of political will.

Ten years after the UN Security Council adopted resolution 2286, reaffirming protection of medical facilities and personnel, attacks on healthcare still continue. That attacks still occur is a failure of political will.

10 years ago today, the UN Security Council adopted Resolution 2286. Over 80 Member States committed to protect medical humanitarian work. Yet @MSF is sharing the same message from 2016:
🔴 Stop bombing hospitals.
🔴 Stop bombing health workers.
🔴 Stop bombing patients.
“Israeli authorities know that without water life ends, yet they have deliberately and systematically obliterated water infrastructure in Gaza…”
Our latest report documents how the Israeli authorities have used access to water as a weapon in Gaza: https://t.co/mOq9VrkfUE

Dr. Javid Abdelmoneim @MSF_IP , International President of Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), is visiting Darfur, Sudan, to see first-hand the organization's medical activities, meet patients, and engage with local interlocutors to help ensure safe and sustained humanitarian action.
🎥 @MSF_IP says that meeting with old colleagues and seeing the impact of our work in Khartoum, Sudan, made his heart swell.
Next, he will be going to Darfur to see how teams are caring for people whose lives continue to be torn apart by the country’s devastating conflict.
We asked @MSF_IP for 3 words to describe 3 years of war in Sudan. His answer: catastrophe, atrocities, impunity.
These words are the daily reality of people and communities in Sudan — and this continues because of political failure. #TalkAboutSudan
Why Chopper? Why now? Because we believe in helping those in need of medical care, regardless of ethnicity, religion, or politics. This is something Chopper and @MSF share.

State Minister for Foreign Affairs KUNIMITSU received a courtesy call from Dr. Mohamed Javid ABDELMONEIM, President of Médecins Sans Frontières International, and they exchanged views on the humanitarian situations around the world.

I had a productive meeting with Dr. Javid Abdelmoneim, International President of Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), and was briefed on MSF’s critical operations in the Gaza Strip, the Middle East, and worldwide.
I commended MSF for its humanitarian medical missions conducted in the world's most dangerous and challenging environments. I also reaffirmed our government’s steadfast commitment to contributing to international efforts to resolve humanitarian crises across the globe.
Women in Somalia often face “triple delays” in accessing healthcare; a delay in seeking care, in reaching care, and in receiving care.
These delays can have deadly consequences.

In 2014, I visited eastern DRC, where @MSF teams were treating sleeping sickness - the only available drug was so toxic it killed 1 in 20 patients. In 2026 I'm so proud that, thanks to @DNDi, patients can be cured with a single dose of a groundbreaking new oral drug, acoziborole.
Congrats to our partner @DNDi on the approval of their drug acoziborole to treat sleeping sickness! 🎉
This neglected disease could now be cured with a safe, single-dose pill, rather than complicated, toxic treatments that have previously been used.
