It's not the school. It's the society. There's too much going on that discourages young people from developing the discipline to work. To learn to read, write and build one's memory and skill takes work. Capitalism hates work and has taught that hatred to our children.

And worse, the richest people are proudly the dumbest. And they keep saying with their words, and confirming with their actions, that an empty head and loud mouth are economically viable. From the influencers to the journalists to the politicians to the so called first trillionaire, that's the message. Be stupid, and money will follow.

I cried about this alot, until CBC. From CBC, I learned that Kenyans, like the good Anglo-American disciples that they are, hate knowledge and skills. Absolutely hate them. They love money and positions, not work. They love talking about knowledge and skills, but not the work to develop them. They've learned that from motivational speaking and prosperity gospel industries that looking like you're rich, "declaring" that your rich in that biblical magician's name, will eventually make you rich. Not work.

So now I just do the motions like the students. I cover the syllabus, and wait for the day of reckoning when the Kenyan society actually confronts this nonsense. And I don't see that day coming any time soon.

My favorite maternal Untie recently sold her 1 acre land to move away from her only son who has turned up to be a nightmare of a son.

So my Sister put up a neat one bedroom for her in one of her plot... because untie took very good care of us when we were young.

So, one day, untie came to me and asked me to find a shamba for her to buy with her 2m.

We sat for nearly 2 hours..
I finally managed to convince her to invest her money in a Sacco and MMF.,

After few months of talking, she went ahead and invested about 1m in sacco and 1m in mmf.

These days she is happier, more relaxed and always shopping.

Saccos up here pay up to 15%.

She easily earns Over Sh. 26,000 per MONTH from her investment.

She is 87yrs so even if she had 5 acres, she wouldn't make that figure.

Older people need to learn.
