🚨 Betting and Gambling: The National Shame We Refuse To Name!
@Mwarpkenya today issues an urgent call to action against the #betting and #gambling epidemic that is silently destroying the fabric of Kenyan families, leaving #women and #children to shoulder the devastating consequences of a Ksh 88.5 billion annual gambling crisis.
Kenyan families are being robbed of Ksh 242 million EVERY SINGLE DAY — and the thieves are celebrated, advertised on every platform, and endorsed as heroes.
The #robbery is legal.
The #destruction is normalized.
The #silence is deafening.
Until now!⚠️
What started as “just fun” has spiraled into a cycle of #addiction, #debt, and #despair, robbing our #youth and #communities of their future.
In our latest Brief on the Betting and Gambling Menace, MWARP outlines a 5-Point Emergency Call to Action Plan, urging #leaders, #regulators, #parents, #communities, and YOU to act now, not later.
🎯 Our Call to Action:
It’s time to move from talk to action, push for the #implementation of these five urgent #measures to protect our #youth, strengthen #families, and rebuild #hope.
💪 The future is in our hands — let’s choose it over chance!
#Join the movement. #Speak up. Demand #accountability. Together, we can end the gambling trap.

@Mwarpkenya Disability is not a side issue, a person with disability should not take an opportunity given as an offer,. PWDs representatives should be proud of their status and take fully charge with the act! PWDs are also people 👏🏽👏🏽 #PWDAct2025
@Mwarpkenya Stigma is a disease, I have seen parents hiding children with disability how do you go about such parents or institutions, some even force their children to attend normal schools and they're fully aware the child is intellectually not well
@Mwarpkenya Basically this model places PWDs at the centre of operation by ensuring their lives as a right but not at mercy of anyone. Be it access to opportunities, health, education and other life aspect as a right nit a favour
@Mwarpkenya We can not talk of inclusion when we don't involve PWDs, With our Kenyan constitution in the bill of rights, all people must receive equal rights.. PWDs have equal rights they must be given equal opportunities it's not charity 👏🏽 #PWDAct2025
