Since 2001, we've reached more than 1.25 million families across the country, helping them feel informed, supported, and less alone during some of their most difficult days. Together, we're building a future where every NICU family gets the support they need 💜 #NFS25
Rachel Balck, a coordinator for one of the first NICU Family Support® programs 25 years ago, helped ensure families feel heard, supported, and guided throughout their NICU journey.
This year, we're celebrating 25 years of NICU Family Support® by honoring the families, healthcare providers, and partners who have made this work possible. #NFS25
Supporting the @NICUParentNet Hill Day was a great opportunity to promote key maternal and infant health priorities in Congress, such as funding to implement the PREEMIE Act and maternal mental health programs, and explain the importance of FMLA for NICU families.
Joining advocates at the Dad’s Caucus’ annual fatherhood awards reception on Tuesday, hosted by @RepJimmyGomez, also allowed us to celebrate a champion for our families, @XYZ Name, for his work on advancing maternal and infant health policy.
Thank you @4kira4moms for allowing March of Dimes to join the 3rd Annual Dads Got Something to Say Advocacy Day. We were honored to be able to support this advocacy day and its policy asks.
Last month, @HouseCommerce passed the NIH IMPROVE Act unanimously. We need the House leadership to bring it to a vote on the floor and the @GOPHELP to move it forward in the Senate!
March of Dimes joined @healthfunding to advocate for the need for fully funding and staffing healthcare agencies and programs vital to the health of all Americans, esp. our moms and babies.
This Memorial Day, join us to honor the men and women of the US Armed Forces, who dedicated their lives to serving and protecting our nation. Their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering strength inspire us every day. Today, we remember, reflect, and thank the heroes who gave so much
In 2024, March of Dimes released the Nowhere to Go: Maternity Care Deserts report, showing over 35% of counties are considered maternity care deserts, impacting over 2.3 million women of reproductive age.
Reply: Over the past decade, more than 100 rural hospitals have closed and this trend is only getting worse for many communities most in need for maternal and infant healthcare. We created a supplemental report that shows some of the recent hospital closures.
March of Dimes, and the millions of moms and babies we serve across the country, look forward to seeing this legislation passed by Congress and signed by the President this year.
Thank you to the leadership of @RepGuthrie@FrankPallone@RepUnderwood@RepBrianFitz and support of all members of the @HouseCommerce Committee for passage of the NIH IMPROVE Act (H.R. 6238/S. 3254). Its unanimous passage shows the support maternal health has in Congress.
The bipartisan NIH IMPROVE Act would authorize consistent funding ensuring federal support for programs that develop evidence-based research and approaches to improving maternal health outcomes, addressing maternal mortality, and reducing health disparities.
