@DrewHutton45645 The Navarre Green Power Hub Wind Factory proposes to dynamite hundreds of hectares of native bush including critically endangered Woodlands right beside Internationally recognised Key Biodiversity Areas including Kara Kara National Park, Morrl Morrl Nature Reserve & more reserves
Bruce Mountain absolutely nails it in this video. I don’t think I disagree with a single word he says here. Which is quite something in a detailed 15minute interview.

@DHughesy Not only that but AEMO are completely unaccountable. They are exempt from Freedom of Information which is what makes having access to them at senate estimates all the more important. They have corrupted our once cheap & reliable energy grid, the transition is economy destroying
Another “should be news” story… the workers camps planned in Central West Orana are quietly being consolidated onto the big one at Merotherie that belongs to ACEREZ who are building the transmission. Wind and solar developers are being invited in too, and that camp is expanding.
Consolidation is unsurprising given the social license has collapsed. Fewer objectors. But this has big implications for road traffic, and the locals nearby, who I’ve spoken to. But this is happening oh-so-quietly.
And crucially, this opens a window for potential cross-subsidisation of wind and solar projects from the transmission build. All these projects haven’t reached financial close, and won’t without loads of government support. So carefully concealed subsidies is what we expect, and this could be one of them.
This is an enormous moment. A monumental political pivot point. There’s no coming back from the here, if you know the regions hate the renewable energy so much you don’t even want to name it when funding billions of dollars of road upgrades for it.
Somewhere deep in the bowels of Treasury there are some grey-beards with their heads in their hands. They joined an institution that was regarded as world-class for its analysis.
Now it's producing nonsense propaganda.
Renewable energy is...
putting downward pressure on bills?
supporting energy entensive industries?
making us a renewable energy superpower? 1/
Transgrid's TAPR confirms that the Expansion of the Central West Orana REZ is 'Actionable'.
But to me it looks like it's actually a variation that is not an addition to the first plan. Instead, the connection points and hubs are completely altered for lines intended to be built for the first stage.
More evidence that this is make-it-up-as-you-go network design and planning, with phases blurring together. Modifications and scope creep bleeding across different contracts, making it impossible to distinguish a cost blow-out in one stage from an expansion of scope in the next.
Big news. Overdue too.
VNI West made no economic sense. Far-flung, weather-dependent energy doesn't justify building new transmission lines to connect it.
$Trillion Dollar Transmission Failure?
The Green Energy Transition is dead and even the industry admits it... it's been strangled by the realities of physics...
It turns out that transmitting massive amounts of power across vast distances is... VERY expensive! Who knew, right? (all of us... but who's counting?)
Everyone is finally starting to admit it... the Green Energy emperor has no clothes, never did, and reality can only be ignored for so long.

Yesterday I read @CSIRO's latest GenCost.
This is a turning point. For the first time, the report contains clear concessions that pushing to net-zero has a cost. Renewables are more expensive than coal.
And yet, some of the headlines still say otherwise.
Quick 🧵.
1.
Electricity price to increase 50% because of retirement of coal, and that's the CSIRO/AEMO line. Expect worse. This is what intergenerational inequity looks like. Rents up, electricity up, everything up. Will hit youngest hardest.
Great piece from Greg Sheridan, who is now alert to the fact that the @AEMO_Energy ISP doesn't actually find the least cost energy system. This is an ideological capture of what should be trusted institutions.
