ASB Together with Wale Marine in Cape Town has developed a mini barge from recyclable HDPE & recycled plaswood. Game changer for Inland Waterway Transport as it can carry a heavy load with a minimum draft. We are very excited to test it out on the rivers in #SouthSudan#IWT#ASB
@gingosamuel@AfricanParks@DOT_SSD I love South Sudan. Its beautiful, largely untouched landscapes are breathtaking and unlike anywhere else in Africa. I truly hope more people get the opportunity to experience this incredible country. Thank you to @AfricanParks, @gingosamuel, and @DOT_SSD for a fantastic job
@KoinangeJeff@citizentvkenya Love your work, @KoinangeJeff ! I have some land about 20 km north of Juba on the road to Terekeka—part of it is on an island in the Nile. If you know of any investors who might be interested in partnering with us to develop Nile Island Camp, I'd love to connect.

From the air, I captured a breathtaking 360-degree view of this stunning rock formation located approximately 10 miles from Maruwa Hills Tourist Camp in the heart of the Boma-Badingilo landscape.
This remarkable site is being considered as an additional helicopter stopover point, offering visitors a unique opportunity to enjoy refreshments while taking in some of South Sudan’s most spectacular scenery.
As efforts continue to enhance the visitor experience, African Parks is identifying more scenic stopover locations that allow tourists to connect with the landscape in a more personal and immersive way while witnessing the awe-inspiring Great Nile Migration.
The beauty, scale, and diversity of Boma continue to showcase South Sudan as one of Africa’s most exciting emerging tourism destinations.

Boma Park Manager Jani explaining a little bit of a trip we had with chopper in the morning and what our afternoon flight was to aim at seeing.
The Great Nile Migration is the largest land mammal migration on Earth.
Thank you African Parks for the conservation efforts.
The Boma-Badingilo Migratory Landscape has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List and the List of World Heritage in Danger. As home to the Great Nile Migration, this landscape marks South Sudan’s first inscription on the World Heritage List.
Meet the Nile Perch One of Africa's Largest Freshwater Fish👇
The Nile Perch is a giant freshwater predator that can grow over 2 meters (6.5 feet) long and weigh more than 200 kilograms (440 pounds). With its powerful body and enormous mouth, it is an efficient hunter, feeding on fish, crustaceans and other aquatic animals.
The Nile Perch is naturally found in the Nile River Basin and in major African lakes and rivers across Uganda, Kenya,Tanzania,South Sudan,Sudan, Ethiopia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Egypt and parts of West Africa. It is especially well known in Lake Victoria, where it became established after being introduced in the 1950s.
This fish supports an important commercial fishery, providing food and income for millions of people across Africa. However, in some lakes, its introduction has also caused the decline of many native fish species, making it one of the world's most debated freshwater fish.
🎯 The Nile Perch reminds us that a single species can be both economically valuable and ecologically complex, highlighting the importance of balancing conservation with sustainable fisheries.

South Sudan plays a unique & integrating role in connecting upstream and downstream Member States of NBI.
It is geographically and diplomatically positioned to foster cohesion and balance among the riparian countries’ diverse interests.
It is endowed with extra-ordinary natural resources, including the #Sudd wetland⬇️, one of the world’s richest ecological zones, not forgetting the Nile itself, which covers about 97% of #SouthSudan.
These resources hold immense potential to transform livelihoods, boost national GDP and drive regional growth.
NBI projects - spanning from wetlands management, hydrological monitoring, regional electricity interconnections, flood forecasting & and early warning advisories - are benefiting people in South Sudan. @EmbassyRssUg@PalMai8
We need to promote the tourism industry of our country! It has great potential. Post any photo or video you have about South Sudan with this hashtag #️⃣ 👇

Sudd👇, is the largest tropical wetland in the world. It covers a vast area of seasonal and permanent #Wetlands at the confluence of the main tributaries of the White Nile in South Sudan & attracts thousands of migratory birds!
This management strategy (2022-2025) came out of our joint commitment with @GIZAfricanUnion to promote the sustainable management of wetlands in the #NileBasin. https://t.co/T1vWUL52e8
A fantastic sighting of lions in South Sudan’s Badingilo National Park. This year, African Parks released aerial survey results that confirm that 🇸🇸 retains the world’s largest land mammal migration. Excitingly, the vast landscapes of eastern South Sudan retain populations of lions 🦁. The size of the population is not known, but sightings are quite frequent, which is encouraging.
This Thursday, September 19th, 2024, at Kisumu Shipyard a handover ceremony will take place for the newly constructed 100m wagon ferry christened MV Uhuru II to the @KenyaRailways_.
The handover ceremony signifies that the vessel has met all its contractual performance requirements which is a true testament of KSL’s commitment to its vision.
