@BorealBaron Never heard of this community. Went to Wikipedia and started typing “Bolivian Mennonites” and this was the first thing that popped up: https://t.co/bxiLrTIRJn

@MattWalshBlog Childhood is an intrinsically good part of life itself, not just a training module for adulthood, and I should hope it is since the average person will spend 20-25% of their life as a child.
@SeanTrende Which is also why I am not worried long-term about population collapse. There are huge swathes of the US population with fertility <1: they will quickly die out. And the small % of the population with fertility >4 will quickly (well, over a few generations) take over.
@BNODesk They were doing everything in MS Word somehow and the clipart for Gulf of America is longer than for Gulf of Mexico and it wrapped around to the next line. Only reasonable explanation.
@lxeagle17@sassermac99706 But Medicaid and SNAP aren’t relied on by the kind of people who vote. Even the infrequent, uninformed, only-vote-in-Presidential-years voters that carried Trump to victory have their lives together enough that they don’t rely on SNAP or Medicaid.
@InezFeltscher This is not how intuitive morality works though! If I am walking down the street and walk past a piece of litter, I’m not a jerk. But if I pick up a piece of litter, but then put it back down, I am a jerk.
@admcrlsn It will end with an order that on the face looks to deny Trump’s goal, but in the details will actually allow for USAID to be dismantled. Court will save face, preserve their relevance to the public when the next D administration comes in…
@madamscientist Who came up with your statistics and what is their bias? Don’t you think that if you could get a 146% return on investment, private companies would be flocking to do the same research that NIH currently funds and paying the researches many times what they are currently paid?
@jkagan1 Ok but there is an alternative timeline where govt stayed out of medical research, and the private sector responding to the market stepped in, and all of your list plus dozens of others were discovered and mass-marketed decades ago.
