@Anisocyte "Please take responsibility for the outcomes of clinical decisions based upon information you haven't gathered"
There's a middle ground but I'd always want to corroborate the content collated by another source directly with the pt & get additional nuance specific to the decision
After yesterday’s brilliant performance but disappointing result, today’s bus parade was the perfect antidote.
Seeing people of every race, colour, religion, age and background come together in celebration was a reminder of what football — and London — should be all about. COYG
A huge NHS problem:
"...a significant proportion of activity may be generated not by new need, but by the system failing to meet existing need the first time."
That's failure demand.

@mattdiscombe What possible benefit comes from a separate (and probably more game-able) metric for those treated in corridors? If they focussed on reducing 12hr waits (as opposed to not letting them get worse, which is current strategy) the would improve the problem.
Congratulations to all the Arsenal fans and in particular one
@M8Arteta put the club on his shoulders, trusted the process, and shaped everything around him. He never doubted that, at some point, despite, and because of, the endless hours of work, the big rewards would come.
Here it is 🏆
UK HEMS - a very different profile compared to the "average" US HEMS program.
Also, not mentioned, there are zero single engine helicopters used for HEMS in the UK.
(<4% of US HEMS programs staff with physicians)

For every 1 hr spent boarding in the ED a patient spends an extra 2.15 hours in hospital.
Decreasing ED boarding increases bed availability!

Reducing computer screen brightness in ED to 40% did not affect ability to interpret scans or read EPR.
2000 kg CO2 equivalent saved per year, saving about £2000 a year.
Scalable and would be easy to implement in the NHS.

@shakilED Scalp wounds often covered up with multiple, absorbent layers over time, none of which address the bleeding point(s)
Don't rely on ones placed by others or that have been in situ for a while
Ensure adequate appreciation & control of bleeding before their head is the far end of CT
Wow. Recent @RCollEM survey found Emergency Departments operating at 176% of capacity.
Imagine an aircraft, a shop, a restaurant or any other public facing industry being expected to perform perfectly at this sort of figure!
Tough to operate with success in current #NHS environment, yet, ACCESS London do it 24/7 all year round. Thousands of patients conveyed on complex life support and given access to lifesaving procedures! Proud you @ACCESS_London1 Team https://t.co/0FdVnDZRaF…
Resident doctors have written to the Secretary of State explaining why the Government’s latest offer fell short and what must be done to improve it.
If a credible offer is made, resident doctors are prepared to postpone next week’s strikes. We remain committed to further negotiations to secure a deal that protects doctors, patients and the future of the NHS.
🚨 ACCESS Mega Sim Day 🚨
High-fidelity, high-pressure, real-world simulation in action today with the ACCESS team. This isn’t routine ICU — it’s ICU in motion.
👏 Huge well done to everyone undertaking the sim today — pushing boundaries!
What a story! The coming together of London's amazing legacy services & a fantastic story since, serving London & the UK.
So much work by such brilliant people behind the scenes.
A remarkable organisation and I'm so lucky to be a little piece of it!
Happy bday @ACCESS_London1!
