We're excited to announce our new name Maverick BioMetals!
As our technology has evolved over the last year, we are doubling down on our metal extraction efforts using a biological process.
Current extractive metallurgical processes are energy intensive and contaminatory and current biomining techniques are ineffective. Our novel bioextraction process uses little energy, no hazardous chemicals, and leaves no waste.
This week’s SynBioBeta newsletter features stories about bio-mining microbes, making use of Borneo’s biodiversity, tropical flavored brews and more. Let’s dive in: https://t.co/Ohbyl1BGSA #synbio

🚨Over a lifetime, an American born today will consume 2.96 million lbs of minerals, metals, and fuels - a shocking mineral intensity only exacerbated by the clean energy transition.

@Paul_Subzak@CalvinCupini@nickvanosdol Thanks for the shoutout! Yes we’re working on decarbonizing lithium extraction from hard rock mining using biotech.
I'm happy to announce our lab has successfully demonstrated in lab scale studies that our engineered microbes can break down hard rock ores and release the lithium and aluminum they contain. That's the power of synthetic biology! #LITHIUM#biotech#sustainability
@elonmusk@stats_feed@elonmusk we are working on a more cost effective lithium extraction that uses less energy. We are looking for partners for our pilot system. Let's talk?
@triofrancos We’re working on a lithium extraction system that is less energy intensive than the current acid roasting system using biology. Hoping to make it less water intensive too.
