@the_lineca@Justin_Ling This is why I subscribe to The Line. They go to the source, gather information, and bring it to light. They work to tell a full story. Honest reporting with as little bias as possible. Keep up the good work!
@Fernpick@Arturmaks@tdothip@_MarkSutcliffe The problem is that the “bike path” is not a bike path, it’s for both pedestrians and cyclists. There are far more pedestrians on the path than cyclists. The combined foot/cycle traffic on the narrow path is too heavy and unsafe. He’s cherry-picking the data to make his case.
@universal_sci Celestron AstroMaster 70AZ or 70EQ are good, inexpensive entry level scopes (or the 90AZ or 90EQ for a little more power). Minimal fuss to set up and use. Much more intuitive (especially the AZ). Optics are decent. Will show planets, moon, orion nebula and star clusters.
@universal_sci The 127EQ is a terrible acope for beginners. It requires far too much fiddling to collimate the primary and secondary mirrors. A beginner will have poor views and will get frustrated and think astronomy is not for them. I’ve seen it happen. A refractor is ideal for beginners.
@mattgurney Matt, would you indulge me and explain what this gif means in this context? I get that it kinda defeats the purpose, like explaining why a joke is funny.
@Erdayastronaut@SpaceX@124970MeV I noticed it’s 46 this time instead of 49. Maybe pushing the payload a little further uphill in case of another solar flare? Sunspot 2936 is back!
@engineers_feed A good mentor tells their apprentice when they are wrong, which is often. If they are both respectful, they learn and build a strong relationship. If you are dismissive and insulting of mistakes, you get nothing good.
Ppl are emotional beings.
@VeraEtches I just read your letter to directors of education in Ottawa. I was very happy to see your reasoning clearly laid out and I appreciate the tone of the letter. This is an incredibly hard time and you are doing an excellent job! Thank you.
@DJSnM The glass bottle may be attenuating some charged particle radiation as well. I have placed a slug of depleted uranium against a thin-window geiger meter and the cpm reading jumps by almost 2 orders of magnitude. Handle with care :)
@SpacePadreIsle The restaurant should be a micro-brew. They can sell drinks made in their “tank farm”.
A plate of chicken wings called “Flaps”
Side order of a “Hopper of fries”, seasoned with “Metha-Lox” salsa and sour cream, or “Cryogenic” chilli and cheese!
@ErcXspace@elonmusk@smvllstvrs I’m thinking something akin to the landing arrestor cable on aircraft carriers. It would need to be deployable so that the flamey bit can pass by first on its way down.
