It's been a bitter pill to swallow, but I've accepted these are not the same theme parks from before the pandemic. It's a different company, the blow of constant nickel-and-diming is unlikely to relent and for those of us who have emotional ties to these places, it's really hard.

Studio controls the money, director controls the creative decisions, producers are go-betweens. AAA gaming is much more hierarchical and therefore publisher controlled.

A film is an inherently collaborative (if often quite combative) process between studio heads and creatives, in AAA games the studio heads are in charge.
