@azusagakuyuki I really feel it in my heart when other people have to battle cancer since I had lymphoma twice and had to battle through it. It's hard mentally and physically. Lots of love and support from an American bro to you! You got this!
I'm very sorry for your family's loss. It's so hard losing a friend who never hold any judgment against you and is there for you with complete supportive silence. I lost my soul dog, Panzer, a couple of years ago. He lived a long, happy life. Almost 14 years, which is impressive for a large breed. He was a German Shepherd/Doberman mix. I have two German Shepherds now, Jezebel, a rescue I adopted about 10 years ago and Ziggy, a rescue/rehoming I got last year when he was 4 months old.
Find a StrongFirst instructor in your area. It was founded by Pavel Tsatsouline. I belonged to a kettlebell and powerlifting centric gym for years, moved back to Idaho and started my own gym for a number of years focusing on kettlebell training. It's great stuff, and crosses over so well to other aspects of lifting and disciplines. It's also great as a supplementary training for mobility and explosive strength if your focus is elsewhere.
Seeing this actually helped. I went down a rabbit hole of memories after going through a box of letters and cards I've kept over the last 30 years from family, friends and girls I fumbled or just drifted apart. There were also letters and cards from when I was 19 and I had a life altering health issue, surgery and neurotoxic reaction to a medication. I almost died multiple times and the recovery took a couple of years. I wouldn't go back and change a thing because all of the things that happened to me, the choices I made, good and bad, made me the person I am today. But that doesn't stop the occasional self induced funk that happens when you start thinking about the family and friends you'll never see again in this plane of existence, or the what if's of hindsight being 20/20. Thanks for the reminder to stay in the present and realize I have done alright with the hand I was dealt.
@returntoquality I play MB101s because I love how they feel and look, I didn't know that by using something that works well for me I would be considered a historically significant figure 🤣
