Milit S. Patel (@militspatel) is a research assistant working across @UTAustin, @MIT, and @MSKCancerCenter — at the intersection of global oncology, cancer health equity, genomics, and clinical AI. A recent UT Austin graduate — Dean's Honored Graduate, with Special Departmental Honors & Distinction in Research — he's also CTO of an early-stage biotech.

In his words:

"I came to @TheCORGILab because the questions I kept running into were never only biological — the answer kept turning on which system a patient happened to be treated within, and who that system was built for. CORGI is one of the few places where that's the starting point rather than a limitations paragraph. My work now sits across health-systems metrics, cancer genomics in multi-institution cohorts, and the validation of clinical AI — and I care most about where those three overlap."

Emma Zhang (@emmaruoyii) is a first-year medical student at Duke–NUS Medical School (Singapore), bringing a data scientist's toolkit — statistics, modeling, and AI — to oncology.

In her words:

"I wanted exposure to oncology research, and first got involved analyzing Global Burden of Disease data with CORGI. I'm hoping to keep leveraging my data and modeling skills to analyze medical data — and eventually to both practice medicine and help invest in and finance healthcare delivery, innovation, and research."

We are excited for all the projects in progress, under review, or under revision she is working on with @TheCORGILab! More to come from Emma!
