Geographic biases undermine environmental representativeness of European biodiversity data https://t.co/JcBOkVrkVu

#GBIF falls short of providing a representative picture of the global #distribution of #insects

Using #ModestR, this work assessed the inventories completeness of insects using all available data in GBIF.
#ModestR update 6.8 released! https://t.co/XwgCbBFaYS
New features: veeeeery large databases management (>1000M occurrences), very fast inventories completeness estimation, virtual species building, improved import/export options and many more!
Working on new @ModestrSoftware version, able to work with veeeery large #biodiversity#datasets. Real screenshoot 🧐, a database of 1.3 billion occurrences for #Aves, quite all those in @GBIF! And it works quite fast⚡️! This may make easier #biodiversity studies at larger scale.
New Modestr website: https://t.co/PvYhQ9wnci 😀
Because former website is down, automatic update checking may fail in versions prior to 6.6 ☹️. Please manually go to new website https://t.co/9mHA8dl0sN to check for updates.
#ModestR 6.5 update released! With new features such as directly importing taxonomy data from @GBIF Backbone, and easily downloading #DNAbarcodes from #BOLD and building #phylogenetic trees.
New tutorials about those features: https://t.co/OzEXVKhLtB
https://t.co/w6bzHos5T8
Testing new #ModestR feature: easily download #DNAbarcoding data from #BOLD (BARCODE OF LIFE DATA SYSTEM) then generate simple #phylogenetic trees, all in a few clicks. Next step: cross presence data from @GBIF with #DNABarcodes from BOLD!!
Coming soon in the next update.
Working on Barcode of Life Database (#BOLD) integration in #ModestR 😃. Soon it'll be possible to easily download DNA barcodes in ModestR, build phylogenetic trees and cross-match those data with geographic distributions!

@GerlienVerhaeg @WWF Hello! Sorry for being late to answer. According to Microsoft, an application built for the Net Framework 4.5 or higher (i.e. 4.6, such as ModestR) can be runned in any later version of the .Net Framework. So we think it'll be no problem.
#ModestR free software now can integrate the full @WWF#Hydrosheds database (just download and install from ModestR website). This allows working with species distributions and perform searches, analyses and models at different basin levels very easily.

Using #Maxent from #Modestr is now possible! Since Modestr v6.0 take advantage of all Modestr features to apply Maxent: limit to a particular extent (EOO, river basins, regions), apply in batch mode to thousands of species, convert to presence maps...
