Hello, bankers,
Let’s start an online movement to hold this man accountable. He, along with all the other leaders, must resign from their positions.
If you agree, please repost. If you disagree, please leave a heart. ❤️

This strike showed me a side of banking I never expected.
Official bank handles campaigning against their own staff. Employees painted as the enemy of the customers they serve every day.
Then came the silence.
Where were the executives when their people were publicly discredited? Where was anyone questioning an arbitrary PLI scheme?
Speaking against a union is easy. Speaking against employees is easier. Speaking truth to your own institution takes a spine.
Institutional loyalty should never mean surrendering your conscience.
A bank can survive a strike. It should never normalise humiliating its own people.
To fellow bankers: don’t lose your voice just because you wear the same logo. The day employees are afraid to question their own institution is the day it stops having people with a voice and starts having people who only follow orders.
That is a far more dangerous failure than any strike.

Deferring the strike without securing an official notification for 5-Day Banking is a complete betrayal by UFBU leadership. Trading a signed March 2024 settlement for yet another stalling committee destroys our union's credibility and makes a mockery of every bank employee—(1/2)
As someone who relies on regular banking access, I find this whole situation genuinely unfair — not to the banks, but to the employees. The Indian Banks' Association itself agreed to a 5-day work week back in March 2024. That's not a demand pulled out of thin air; it's a signed commitment. Yet two and a half years later, it's still 'under consideration,' with strikes being deferred over and over on the basis of vague assurances instead of a concrete timeline. If an agreement is signed, it should be honored within a reasonable time — not indefinitely stalled while the people who kept their side of the bargain are asked, again and again, to just wait a little longer
Every 24x7 banking service has a banker behind it and a family waiting at home. We agreed to the 5-day week in March 2024 and accepted longer weekday hours. The regulator, the insurer and the Government all work 5 days.
Our demand is just. The delay is not.

Bankers keep India connected 24×7.
But behind every transaction, target and deadline is a human being, with a family, responsibilities and a life beyond the branch.
A 5-day week was agreed in March 2024, with bankers accepting longer working hours from Monday to Friday.
The demand is reasonable. The commitment is proven. The delay is difficult to justify.
Implement 5-Day Banking now.

An agreement must be honoured. A reward system must be fair.
#5DayWeekandFairPLI
The 5 Day Work Week for bank employees was agreed in the Bipartite Settlement of March 2024. Its implementation cannot remain pending indefinitely.
At the same time, a unilateral and discriminatory PLI framework that divides the workforce must give way to a fair, transparent and inclusive system for all employees.
Every achievement of our banks is the outcome of collective effort.
Recognition too must reflect that collective contribution.
We seek no privilege, only implementation of an agreed commitment, equality in reward and dignity at work.
@PMOIndia
India’s Bank employees seek two things rooted in fairness and dignity at work.
#5DayWeekandFairPLI
The demand for a 5 Day Work Week in banks is not new. It already stands agreed upon in the Bipartite Settlement of March 2024. What remains is its long-pending implementation.
At the same time, the unilateral and discriminatory PLI system must be abolished and replaced with a fair, transparent and inclusive framework for all employees, recognising the collective effort behind every institution’s performance.
Hardworking bank employees are not asking for privilege. They are asking for implementation of an agreement and equality in reward.
A motivated banking workforce strengthens Indian banking and the nation.
