♻️ Advancing Circular Textile Recycling for a Sustainable Future! ✨
Smt. Vrunda Manohar Desai, IRS, Textile Commissioner, Government of India, visited Without®️, Pune, on 5 September 2026 to review their pioneering circular textile recycling technology. The enterprise addresses one of the textile sector’s most critical challenges—recycling mixed, soiled, and end-of-life textile waste that is typically unsuitable for conventional recycling.
Key Highlights of the Visit:
🔹 High-Purity Material Recovery: Reviewed their proprietary chemo-mechanical process that recovers high-purity Terephthalic Acid (PTA) to manufacture recycled polyester yarn comparable to virgin polyester.
🔹 Near-Zero Waste Loop: Examined the production of value-added composite products from residual waste streams, achieving near-complete utilization.
🔹 Social Impact: Commended efforts to formalize the informal waste sector by providing dignified livelihood opportunities to waste pickers.
Appreciating Without®️’s indigenous innovation and contribution to resource efficiency, Smt. Desai encouraged the team to leverage ongoing schemes under the Ministry of Textiles, such as Tex Ramps, to accelerate growth, scale operations, and support the vision of Viksit Bharat.
