You get more if what you subsidize and less of what you tax. If we subsidized the PRODUCTION of healthcare, utilities, housing, etc there would be more supply of those things and prices would come down. Instead we subsidize the purchase (demand) of those things and prices go up.
@EricLDaugh Isn't Collins an ifffy "R"? Our hope is she falls in line with the Republicans in exchange for campaign money to keep her seat. If the Dems run a candidate with zero chance of winning she has less reason to NOT cross the aisle and vote D often.
My initial reaction is to have cities like NYC and Seattle (former home town) try Socialism and see if they can demonstrate some benefit. The problem is there is no penalty for failure. So when they inevitably fail there are no consequences for the leaders, only pain for the subjects who elected them.

After President Trump and the state dept did what they could to make certain the US had the most competitive team, they will no doubt be vilified for provoking the Belgium team to victory.
@bryanbruce@zerohedge@grok Very difficult to charge or receive a premium for a commodity product. There are valuable differences in the properties of regional crude oils in efficiency of refinement but no premium simply for being sourced from one nation.

For some cruising and vacationing means relaxing their standard of conduct. Drinking, gambling, spending all to excess. What's a little brawling gonna hurt. We don't behave like that at home.
