The biggest obstacle to building a stronger critical minerals supply chain isn’t a lack of resources. It’s a lack of certainty.
America has the talent, capital, and natural resources to lead. What we need is a permitting system that is predictable, durable, and capable of getting projects built.
That only happens when both parties are willing to work together on long-term solutions. #CO03
Thank you to the U.S. Chamber for the opportunity to speak at the Critical Minerals Summit.
Yesterday, I joined the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Business Council of Westchester, and local business leaders from across NY-17 for a tax policy roundtable discussion.
This productive conversation focused on the impact of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act and other pro-growth tax policies that support small businesses, job creation, and economic growth. It was an important opportunity to hear directly from employers and entrepreneurs about the challenges they face, including New York’s high tax burden, and discuss solutions that help both Main Street businesses and our broader economy thrive.
Today, I joined @USChamber and the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce for a roundtable with small business owners to discuss how the Working Families Tax Cuts we passed supported small businesses & their employees. Together we prevented the largest tax hike in history, extended lower tax rates and greater deductions and expanded tax relief for our job creators, entrepreneurs & senior citizens working families.
As a Co-Chair of the Free Enterprise Caucus, I enjoyed addressing @USChamber’s Board of Directors this week.
I look forward to working together in a bipartisan fashion to advance free enterprise and pro-growth policies that strengthen American competitiveness and help businesses of all sizes thrive.
NEW @DC_Reporter:
A bipartisan Free Enterprise Caucus is being launched by @RepPfluger, @RepDavidValadao, @RepLouCorrea, and @RepSchneider

Today, I'm proud to announce the launch of the bipartisan Free Enterprise Caucus.
At a time of rising debt, growing economic competition, and increasing pressure on working families, Congress has a responsibility to engage in serious, solution-based discussions about policies that will drive economic growth and opportunity. The Free Enterprise Caucus is designed to be that kind of forum, where Members from both sides of the aisle can come to the table, share their perspectives, and find common ground on free enterprise policies.
2026 is the year for permitting reform.
Chairman @RepWesterman joined industry leaders from the @USChamber,@NationalMining, @DCC_org, @ARTBA and @ShopFloorNAM earlier this week to discuss why permitting reform legislation like the #SPEEDAct is critical to strengthening America’s domestic industry, infrastructure, and energy future.
Let America Build Again!
On day 31 of the government shutdown, @GOPMajorityWhip highlights that over 65,000 small business contractors have missed out on $12 billion this month alone.

Just wrapped up a great US Chamber roundtable with local stakeholders and business owners in Mason City. You’re essential to the strength of Iowa’s rural economy, and I’m grateful for our partnership.
We agreed: hardworking Iowans and small businesses deserve a tax code that rewards—not punishes—them. That’s exactly what we delivered with the working families tax cuts in the One Big Beautiful Bill.
We are continuing our work in partnership with state and local chambers from across the country to convene lawmakers with local business leaders in their districts for conversations on tax policy.
Business leaders are voicing their support of maintaining a pro-growth tax code and sharing how it fosters a robust U.S. economy that benefits all Americans. See what they are saying: https://t.co/eqxe8IMVVk
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce applauds @RepYoungKim for the passage of the Improving Access to Small Business Information Act. Her bipartisan leadership supports small businesses across America.
We applaud @RepDustyJohnson and @RepScottPeters for their innovative approach to modernizing the federal permitting process through the ePermit Act. 👏👏👏
By establishing a digital permitting portal and standardized data framework for permitting documents, this legislation would:
✔️ enhance clarity, uniformity, and efficiency across federal agencies
✔️improve transparency
✔️facilitate real-time collaboration
✔️ensure better public access
If passed, this would streamline the #permitting process and our ability to develop critical #infrastructure that will benefit Americans across the country.

This morning, the Chamber's Chad Whiteman testified before @HouseCommerce on concerns about the Clean Air Act's impact on business.
“Well-balanced regulations can provide clarity that help implement the laws passed by Congress in a manner that maximizes innovation and choice. When not properly constructed, regulations become a form of government micromanagement that eliminates the ability to do what people in free markets do best—innovate.”
