BREAKING: A brand new “Christian men’s gym” in Georgia that bans women so pious men can have “lust-free workouts” lasted just 6 days before three men were caught “violating Leviticus in the locker room.”
This photo went viral with zero credit. So let's fix that - I am the photographer.

Bruce Willis went shopping...
...and he overheard a fellow customer say, "Yipee-ki-yay!" Without thinking he yelled out, "Motherfucker!"
Customers gasped and stared at him, shocked.
He looked at the crowd of people and said, "Oh sorry, old habits...Die Hard."

The lakehouse next to mine is owned by an amazing carpenter named Jevon. He is constantly repairing everything himself.
"Wow," I said once. "That must really save you a lot of money."
"Not really," Jevon replied. "Let me tell you about my pair o' docks."
@RBrookhiser My wife's godmother pronounced Ronald Reagan's last name with a long 'e'. The godmother was twenty years old during WWII and first knew RR from the movies.
Asked a nerd friend why he suddenly looked upset and he said, choking back tears, “we’ll never know what Von Neumann could have done with this level of compute”
This photo was taken around 12 years ago. This was the first time I ever went in to the studio with Raven who, at only ten years old, had already written a collection of songs that were impressively catchy. The session was a brutal lesson for me, in that she was clearly destined to go her own way, when, somewhat exasperated with Dad’s suggestions, she turned to me and said ‘I don’t think you’re the right man for the job’. She was right. Even at ten she knew what she wanted with her music. Her debut album is coming together nicely (different songs obviously). I can’t wait for you to hear it, and no, I’ve had absolutely nothing to do with it whatsoever. I wouldn’t dare. @raven_numan
On holiday in Spain recently, quite a nice hotel. I'd swim in the pool in the afternoon then tell my husband I was going back to the room to shower. Our bathroom had a fabulously versatile & effective bidet where I nearly power-hosed off my clitoris during those two weeks.
The biggest divide in software engineering right now is between people who saw the job as a means to an end and those who saw it as an end in itself.
In the past, you would assemble teams with a healthy balance of both and they would act as complementary forces. One side pushed for outcomes at any cost while the other obsessed about quality by caring deeply about the craft. The best teams I've assembled had both, which somehow balanced the short and long term objectives of the organization.
Now, that balance is broken, craft is dead, and those (like myself) who used to go to bed thinking, “I can’t believe I get paid to do what I love most,” need to go back to the drawing board and rethink what to do with our careers.
