@INCMaharashtra Why did you not do a similar check on Pune Nashik SHSR then? The thing is when there is a lack of political will there are more than enough excuses similar to how Pune Nashik SHSR is seeing.
One one off event with no loss of life cannot be used to justify inaction.

@marinebharat And had this happen during congress government I do not think BJP would have been honest in its assessment. BJP took advantage of Covid curbs to play politics so can't blame opposition one bit if they play with perception.

@marinebharat It was not a landslide (at least not fully). Yes, some engineering or construction mistakes can happen. It is better to expedite the project rather than waiting for years but root cause needs to be identified and the same mistake be it design time or QC time shud not happen twice

@theskindoctor13 Is no one going to question highway authorities if they put up correct signages and barricades etc. such that a normal driver is not confused where the exit is and whether they need to take it.
Of course, even stopping in the drive lane is a big mistake on e-way forget reversing.

@Iyervval I mean majority outside major urban centres. In urban areas caste is a reality but it is declining in social calculations faster.

@Iyervval What replaces caste? Caste is a somewhat ossified but still relevant idea in majority of people's mind for doing social investments. Would we replace it with omly economics but economics serv s diff purpose. Appearance will replace caste and that has its own problems.

@bendee983 @pvot_nl Well current wed developers know nothing about assembly and they are doing fine. So over time programming could be barely any different from requirements in plain English. Yes refinement and limitations of the underlying system would help but insteak of 10K, 100 would do.

@kshashi It is possible that we (esp. government given outsized role it plays) would not be able to come close to the frontier LLMs so we likely have to depend on US/CN LLMs but that doesn't mean we shouldn't strive in that direction and take this suboptimal path with our eyes open.

@kshashi Yes, it is very likely US will continue to provide access to frontier LLMs at reasonable cost out of economic and humane reasons (ignoring black swans like Trump) but is it not a possibility that LLMs can also be used as a way to influence people at a scale impossible earlier?
