OLM patched the #php2shell bug yesterday evening. Would not have been possible if we didnโt upgrade to OLMv5 earlier this year. Thanks to @taylorotwell & co for making it super easy with forge ๐ช
Introducing terrio: geospatial data I/O in pure Rust!
terrio reads, writes, converts and reprojects geospatial rasters, vector data and point clouds, with no C dependencies. No GDAL or PROJ to install, nothing to compile: it builds anywhere Rust does, including WebAssembly, so the same engine runs on the command line, in Python, and in your web browser.
What it does
- Rasters: GeoTIFF and COG, Zarr and GeoZarr, netCDF, HDF5, PMTiles, MBTiles and more, read in place from the cloud, so only the bytes needed are fetched.
- Vectors: GeoPackage, Shapefile, GeoJSON, FlatGeobuf, GeoParquet, OpenStreetMap PBF and vector tiles, with filters, field selection and reprojection.
- Point clouds: LAS, LAZ, COPC, EPT, PLY and E57, with PDAL-style filters (ground classification, noise, heights above ground) and gridding into DSMs and DTMs. Files larger than memory are converted in chunks.
- GDAL-style processing: translate, warp, mosaic, rasterize, polygonize, terrain analysis, raster calculator, proximity and sieve.
- Remote data: http(s), S3, Google Cloud Storage, Azure, zip archives and STAC searches as inputs.
- Accurate: coordinate transformations agree with GDAL's within a centimetre for all 6,354 EPSG CRSs GDAL transforms, and outputs are tested against GDAL on real-world data.
- Fast: in our benchmarks, warping, mosaicking and writing COGs run several times faster than the GDAL utilities.
- For AI agents: terrio mcp is an MCP server, so Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor or VS Code can run terrio's commands on your data.
Get it
- Command line (Linux, macOS): curl -LsSf https://t.co/I5jsPoia8W | sh
- Python: pip install terrio (with rasterio- and xarray-style APIs)
- JavaScript/WebAssembly: npm install terrio-js
- Rust: cargo add terrio

@sligococo@MichealMartinTD Cork south central here. Have been trying to get in touch with @MichealMartinTD for years about my work to include people in data collection following the launch of the iPhone. Got this leaflet saying to keep in touch but they never answer or call back.
@IRLOECDUNESCO@IEAmbOECDUNESCO Here is #TheDemocracyGap policy dossier on Irelands structural exclusion of research & innovation pathways which was personally submitted @OECD & @UNESCO hq in Paris on 1st Jan to mark the beginning of the year of Irelands EU Presidency https://t.co/hctG3lloaW
Read #TheDemocracyGap Policy Dossier โ a citizen contribution to Ireland's #EUPresidency on our institutional incapacity for engaging #citizens in basic research, data collection, systems building and innovation pathways.
Written in the constituency of the EU Commissioner for Democracy @EUCssrMcGrath who has ignored all my phone calls & meeting requests and @MichealMartinTD Ireland's outgoing Taoiseach who is very busy working on the housing crisis.

Thanks to a custom #clusterize algorithm that we created and open sourced, all OLM global data (or any large set of data points) loads instantly in 1.7kb
@Willob โฌ18b for x2 depts of education and not even a PhD in citizen science following the launch of the iPhone @lawlessj ๐คก https://t.co/QiCTVoSqxG

Most children (and adults) can identify 100+ logos and nearly 0 native plant species
This is not healthy for society
Native wildlife roots us in our place and we should treat it with such reverence
If we do not root ourselves in the land it is very easy to lose our ourselves
@Willob Itโs why Iโm building citizen science since 2008 following the launch of the iPhone but unfortunately Irelands broken systens are not capable of providing a single research pathway or simple opportunity https://t.co/hctG3llW0u
@IrishMissionUN Peak hypocrisy from Irelands broken institutions that purposely exclude citizens from participating in the development of research infrastructure #TheDemocracyGap https://t.co/hctG3llW0u
The rights to free assembly and association are essential for the full enjoyment of human rights by all.
This morning at #3C, ๐ฎ๐ช expressed concern about the impact of excessive restrictions and repression, in particular young peopleโs engagement on social and political issues.
