At the heart of @demobrwanda, a powerful and emotional conversation is unfolding, one rooted in truth, resilience, and Rwanda’s unshakable journey of rebuilding.

Today, members of @UnityClubRw, @RwandaGov institutions, security organs, and former combatants from FDLR and other armed groups have come together to confront the painful past, reflect on the devastating impact of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, and reaffirm a shared commitment to unity and peace.

Here at Mutobo, stories of return, transformation, and reconciliation are being told by those who once carried weapons against Rwanda but now carry a new vision for their country.

It is a reminder that Rwanda’s strength lies not only in defeating division, but in transforming minds, restoring dignity, and rebuilding lives.

From 1994 genocide against the Tutsi to liberation, from exile in FDLR (DRC) to reintegration, Rwanda’s journey remains one of courage, truth, and resilience.

Today is proof that healing is not a dream, it is happening, and Rwanda continues to lead by example.

She walks into a quiet courtyard where time seems to move slower.

At Intwaza’s Village , elderly men and women "Intwaza" share meals, tend small gardens, and sit together under the roofs built for dignity, not survival alone. Some lost everything in 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi. Others outlived entire families. All carry memories too heavy for words, yet the present gives them something different: stability.

The First Lady Jeannette Kagame’s support through initiatives linked to @Imbuto has been central in strengthening care systems for vulnerable genocide survivors, including elderly widows and widowers. The focus is not charity in passing, but structured living spaces, healthcare access, and community care that restores routine where chaos once ruled.

What stands out is not ceremony, but continuity, homes that function, caregivers who stay, and a system that insists these lives remain visible, supported, and dignified long after the cameras are gone.

Three decades ago, many believed Rwanda’s wounds were too deep to heal. They thought the scars of ethnic division would define generations to come. But under the leadership of President Paul Kagame, Rwanda made a conscious decision to reject the politics of division and embrace a new national identity built on unity, reconciliation, and collective responsibility.

President Kagame understood that rebuilding a nation was never going to be about infrastructure alone; it had to begin with rebuilding trust among us Rwandans. Through a consistent message that there is no place for ethnic politics in Rwanda’s future, he helped shape a national vision where every Rwandan is first and foremost Rwandan.

Today, that vision is visible across the country.

It is reflected in communities that once stood divided but now work side by side to build schools, health centers, and businesses. It is seen in young Rwandans who define themselves not by the divisions of the past, but by the opportunities they are creating together. It is present in the spirit of service, innovation, and patriotism that drives citizens to contribute to the country’s transformation.

We, Rwandans are more united than ever because we have collectively chosen progress over prejudice, nationhood over narrow identity politics, and hope over historical division.

This unity is not accidental; it is the result of deliberate leadership, a clear national vision, and the resilience of a people determined to write a new chapter for their country.

Today, Rwanda stands as proof that when a people are united behind a common purpose, no past is too painful to overcome and no ambition is too great to achieve. Together, Rwandans continue to pursue one shared quest: building a nation defined not by where it has been, but by where it is boldly going.
