This morning, @NimdUganda, in collaboration with the Uganda Human Rights Commission (@UHRC_UGANDA) and Building Synergies Uganda (BSU), is engaging with security agencies, the Electoral Commission, and human rights actors in Mbarara and surrounding areas on how best to promote peace and minimise violence during and after the election period.

#NIMD recognises that young people are the heartbeat of democracy. But how can they make sure their voices count? It's time to shift the narrative!

"I dream of a Uganda where every citizen, regardless of religion, ethnicity, or background, can thrive. A Uganda where political competition is not a source of fear and division, but a moment of reflection on our shared vision." - @PrimusBahiigi#LetPeaceLeadUG#Tuongea
It is essential for MPs to engage in the meetings and events led by local council leaders. This involvement will allow them to fully grasp the issues faced by the communities they represent, enabling them to articulate these concerns effectively in Parliament. #SADU
"Today [the accountability forum] is a key step to the next journey in accountability. This should be a culture that should grow." - David Mugarra, Programs Manager @NimdUganda#SADU
"The study by @NimdUganda and #WFD shows a big loss of trust in the value system. As local leaders, you need to give accountability on the values we represent and people that we govern." - David Mugarra, Programs Manager @NimdUganda#SADU
Master's Degree in Media Development Completed! 🎓
After two years of hard work @OsloMet, I have successfully earned my Master's degree in Media Development. :)
Honestly, the journey was not without its challenges, from navigating the Norwegian extended winter 🥶 seasons to adjusting to the daylight patterns; long days!🌇
However, through dedication and perseverance, I was able to complete my thesis on time, which delved into a fascinating exploration of local Ugandan farmers' perspectives on #ClimateChange news in the Uganda media. I am grateful for the invaluable guidance and support of my academic supervisor and my faculty professors in the Department of Journalism and Media Studies @OsloMet: @kristinso@KrovelRoy@SveaVikander and @Makerere: @JocomMakerere@nakiwalaaisha@GeraldWalulya@marionalina@snamso@FKakooza@robertmadoi@tayeebwa @Charntul, etc.
This achievement is a testament to my passion for #media, #development, and amplifying underrepresented #voices in the media coverage of #climatechange in Uganda. I look forward to leveraging this degree to drive positive change in the field of media and communication.
Thank you to all who have supported me along the way!
Law vs Morality and Decency
Disclaimer - I am not a lawyer, but I am a policy analyst, and I know that law is either itself policy or the end point of policy.
