I’m ready to say hydration breaks are bad enough that it may legitimately ruin soccer as a global viewing phenomenon. It is the the worst enshitification to date.
Completely ruins the things that make soccer good on tv.
Stumps. Doesn’t look like any lessons have been learned since the débâcle in the winter. And the only player who got any runs was dropped twice too so they’re lucky they got 3 figures. 🙄 #ENGNZL
James Milner retiring means 2026-27 will be the first English top-flight season since 1956-57 that will not feature a single player who played under Sir Bobby Robson.
"From my first day, the people took to me straight away when they didn't have to and I'll never be able to say thank you enough."
Go and smash it in Barcelona, @anthonygordon 🖤🤍
Play-offs are currently all at Wembley. Could they have been …
Middlesbrough v Hull City - St James’s Park?
Bolton v Stockport- Old Trafford?
Salford v Notts County - Villa Park?
Surely we need to think about distance travelled/environmental concerns

Counterpoint: if all you do is issue fines to people who can afford it from stuff found down the back of the sofa they’ll just consider it the cost of doing business. The worst thing you can be in sporting terms is a cheat, so maybe any sanction should match that valuation.
I’ve said a lot about Pep Guardiola in the past 24 hours and this thread will be a bookend. First and foremost he’s been a genius coach who, inspired by Cryuff, has revolutionised football at all levels in the past two decades. 1/n
Just on my way back from West Ham. VAR is so broken it is unbelievable.
It is Cardinal Richelieu refereeing. If you scrutinise a slow motion replay of the typical corner kick chaos of this season, you will find all the fouls you want to find.
At least we won’t have it in the Championship next season.
Keeper man. He’s missed a cup final and lost us the Marseille game doing stuff like that in the past. It’s game-altering stuff each time he mucks it up so why hasn’t he cut it out of his game yet? #ARSNEW
Newcastle’s season is over and all that is left is to search through the wreckage for survivors. The manager will take the blame but I hope he survives. He deserve to but there were several players out there today who should hang their heads in shame. Some are cowards, some aren’t good enough and others clearly don’t want to be there anymore #nufc
I won't forgot him scoring one of the funniest goals ever when VAR was was in it's early stages. Shelvey was thinking smarter than anyone on that pitch.
If during the preceding 90 minutes the team had created and/or taken chances that meant (for the umpteenth time this season) we didn’t enter injury time vulnerable to an individual error, then this argument wouldn’t be necessary. And that IS something that’s on the manager.
I’ve just seen the penalty decision. You can blame a manager for that if you want, but why are you grabbing a player’s shirt to defend a long throw? It’s soft, very soft but still…. #nufc
