இன்று ஆந்திரா அரசு சுமார் 1,00,000 ஏக்கர் பரப்பளவு நிலத்தை கையகப்படுத்தி நிறுவனங்கள் வருவதற்கு தகுந்தது போல் தயார் செய்ய முடிவு செய்துள்ளது.. இதற்கான பணியை APIIC தொடங்கிவிட்டது.. இந்த ஆண்டு சுமார் 60,000 ஏக்கர் நிலம் தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டு அதில் 20,000 ஏக்கர் நிலம் தயார் நிலைக்கு கொண்டு வர திட்டம்.

Request to Relocate the Proposed Toll Plaza at Gomangalam Pudur on the Pollachi–Dindigul National Highway

I am writing to formally request the relocation of the upcoming toll plaza currently being set up at Gomangalam Pudur on the Pollachi–Dindigul National Highway. I'm writing this letter(tweet) on behalf of lakhs of Udumalpet, Pollachi and Palani taluk people's. We are thankful forever grateful for this newly built highway which increases the trade and business purpose of entire Coimbatore, Dindigul and Tiruppur district.

The ongoing four-lane expansion of the Pollachi–Dindigul National Highway includes a newly constructed bypass road that connects back to the main highway at Gomandalam Pudur. According to National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) regulations, toll fees should strictly be levied only on vehicles utilizing the newly constructed bypass.

However, the current placement of the toll plaza presents significant issues:

Unfair Financial Burden: By placing the toll plaza at the intersection where the bypass meets the old main road (the old Pollachi–Udumalai road), local villagers and farmers who only use the old main road will be forced to pay the toll daily. Several thousands of Farmers and daily commuters use this old highway for daily survival purpose, and the price of toll is Rs.155 which is not affordable for daily users, monthly pass is a tedious process and more than half of them are not aware of the process and that is also an extra burden.

Traffic Gridlock: Placing the plaza at this busy junction will lead to severe traffic congestion and bottlenecks.

Requested Action:
To protect the livelihood of local farmers, prevent unnecessary financial strain on commuters, and ensure smooth traffic flow, we urgently request that the toll plaza be moved directly onto the new bypass road itself, rather than at the Gomangalam Pudur main road intersection.
