2019 was @biorxivpreprint’s strongest year so far - 29k new articles posted, compared with 20k in 2018. Looking forward to more of everything in 2020 - posts, comments, manuscript transfers and journal choices, plus transparent peer review in preprints https://t.co/fcYs3KGd8Q
The number of new manuscripts posted on @biorxivpreprint last month exceeded 2900 for the first time, thanks to the scientific affiliates who screen manuscripts, the amazingly dedicated in-house team, and of course the authors - now from 110 countries! The momentum continues…

Confirmed! Thanks @richabdill and @GreeneScientist for keeping track. And thanks to the community at large, especially our funder @cziscience and 207,000 authors from >100 countries for incredible support. Couldn’t have got to this 50K milestone without you
As the first year of the #eLifeAmbassadors programme draws to a close, take a look back at what the programme set out to achieve, what we've learnt and an overview of just some of their successes 🏅 https://t.co/DtOkFUEqRZ
"Preprint servers [...] provide an unparalleled platform for early research communication prior to publication & a simultaneous feedback system. I have benefited enormously from using this resource..." - @rush6782#asapbio#preprints#elifeambassadors https://t.co/tJHOH4v2GV
The recording of the final #elifeambassadors call is online. I also had the opportunity to present my @PreprintSupport project which I launched as @elife ambassador (50:30). It was great to be part of the @eLifeCommunity. Thank you so much! #preprints https://t.co/YV539sG6f6
"I was impressed by the idea of separating disclosure & validation and have posted two #biorxiv#preprints in June & July 2017. I believe these preprints helped me to get my job..." - @sugi05#asapbio @asapbio @biorxivpreprint#elifeambassadors https://t.co/hQ44thLYIZ
@npscience@knowexchange@ASAPbio_@jessicapolka We're also interested in these questions and have asked some of our preLighters about their experience with preprints, which you can read in the interviews on our News page https://t.co/Hag7somx8x. A nice resource promoting preprints is @PreprintSupport cc @Ulrike_Boehm
The only way to achieve universal open access to the scientific literature is for research funders to require it of their grantees. They're finally doing it, but are taking a LOT of flak. Show your support by signing this open letter https://t.co/TJaX6aJLJB
Many thanks to all the authors for another @biorxivpreprint record in October: >2000 new manuscripts in a month. Huge thanks to the @CSHL team for keeping this growing show on the road and the affiliate PI's who voluntarily do the manuscript screening that’s so essential.
"I really love #preprints as a way to communicate my research at the pace I want to see. I can decide myself when I am confident enough to put my work online for discussion & for others to use..." - @schwessinger #asapbio#elifeambassadors@ProtocolsIO https://t.co/w4oXzpd23J
"I would make sure to post all my research efforts as #preprints, irrespective of whether they are published in other avenues. It would help [...] to circumvent wastage of resources on similar research questions." - @BiswapriyaMisra#eLifeAmbassadors https://t.co/4nk3xE7ZYa
